Best coffee cake I’ve ever had! I basically inhaled it. Also loved the pistacho iced coffee, not too sweet and perfect amount of espresso! 10/10 would recommend!

Parousia is the coffee shop equivalent of the burger joints where you sit on metal seats, are served a mid burger, and pay $8 extra for fries on the side. i.e. Aesthetic over comfort and intentionality. Wooden seats with tables that dont align with the height of the seat. Couches with nowhere to put your food and drink. Seating areas with no outlets in sight for people who may be here to work. Simultaneously not enough seating and seating crammed into tight spacss. My coffee was ok; I got a large chai w/ double shot. It was gritty and tasted burnt 🥲. The good: lots of natural light and nice staff. Might be good as a stop in place, will not be coming here again since I like to camp out at places.

Stopped in for the first time last week and I may have found my new go-to coffee shop! Staff were kind, and the atmosphere was bright and inviting. My drink was strong and flavorful and the coffee cake was amazing—tasted like a warm, buttery cinnamon roll. There’s a good amount of seating with booths, chairs, and a couch. My table had a vase of fresh flowers on it, which was a really nice touch. Prices were comparable to most other Richmond coffee shops. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Took one bite out of the coffee cake and I HAD to write a review. Cute little coffee spot less than 5 mins away from the Richmond Science Museum/Children's Museum. Branding and indoor decor is clean and fresh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered their seasonal horchata iced latte, a basic vanilla latte, and their coffee cake. Everything was so delicious. Basically inhaled the cake and their coffee was perfectly sweetened. I don't like overly sweet drinks and I didn't have to change a thing with these lattes. 1000% would recommend and plan on coming back whenever we come visit the area!

(Pics feature their store after closing for the day) My friend and I had a wonderful 1st experience! I was brave and tried a hand made syrup (white chocolate mocha) and it was more delicious then I expected, and really enjoyed sipping on it while visiting with a friend. We felt very comfortable in the clean and beautiful environment, although I know it will be even more lovely after the official opening. What a wonderful addition to Richmond! A place that is not only delicious (roasts their own beans), but friendly, knowledgeable, has handmade coffee syrups, and a place I would be comfortable bringing my kids to. Thank you, Parousia, we will be back!
