Red Eye's kitchen clearly takes pride in thoughtful details—think brown sugar lattes that aren't cloying, creative breakfast ramen, and standout sandwiches like their celebrated Salmon BLT made with fresh, local ingredients. Red Eye Cafe is my absolute favorite brunch spot. The food is exceptional, with fresh, local ingredients. The Salmon BLT is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Their coffee is great, the staff is super friendly, and makes you feel at home. The cozy vibe, complete with a charming outdoor patio, is perfect for a relaxing brunch or quick lunch. Red Eye Cafe is a Montclair treasure—highly recommend!
Very good food. Latte was good-not too sweet even though it was a brown sugar latte. The sludge cold brew was tasty. Frittata sandwich was egg whites and vegetables on a whole grain toast with siracha. Blueberry pancakes were good. Service was good. They have extra seating in the adjacent alleyway for nice weather. There is street parking.
Enjoyed breakfast here with my husband. Came in right at opening on a Saturday. We were seated right away but I was pretty surprised at how quickly it became busy. The space itself was warm and inviting. The pastries at the front looked delicious. We both ordered matcha lattes and omelets. Everything came out exactly as ordered. The omelets were fluffy and a nice big size. The potatoes were actually a little cold but had good flavor. The matchas were decent. Overall a good experience and I would definitely come back again.
The food was great! Totally enjoyed the breakfast. Seems there's something on the menu to make everyone happy. We got the chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, breakfast ramen (the soup was very original/unique and the noodles were great), and the kids had the chocolate chip pancakes. All were delicious. I also appreciated their seasonal menu and enjoyed the coquito latte. We read some of the books on the shelves while waiting for our food, enjoyed the ambiance and friendly service. Will definitely be back!
