Oun Lido’s
30 Market St, Portland, ME
Crema's Take
“Oun Lido's is a Southeast Asian gem tucked away in Portland where traditional dishes like mee katang and kuyteav arrive quickly without sacrificing bold, perfectly-seasoned flavors—just be prepared for premium pricing and a casual counter-service setup that rewards those who venture upstairs to cozy, thoughtfully-decorated seating. The whole operation has a wonderfully unpretentious vibe, from the handwritten signage you might miss to staff who'll find a table for seven on short notice, making it ideal for both quick lunch breaks and lingering meals with friends.”

The mee katang and especially the kuyteav were perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. Came out quick too. Only gripe was the prices were pretty high but overall I was very satisfied and would definitely return
Food was excellent and served fast. Service was delivering the food to the table. Get your own water napkins silverware etc. Nice decor and seating. Order downstairs and pay up front. Not a fan of tipping before food/service.
If you have not been, you are missing out. We called with 20 minutes notice on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 7 and they had a table ready on arrival. If deciding what to order. There is nothing on the menu that you won't love as we all got different things and tried them. If you like pho, you will never have a better version than their Rice Noodle Soup. There is more flavor than you knew was possible in a broth. The green beans are a must and the Loc Lac (Shaken Shaved Steak) is to die for! I mean, have you seen a more perfectly cooked sunny side up egg in your life? One thing to note is as far as I can tell and unless there's a sneaky entrance, it is not ADA so make sure stairs are accessible for you and your party. It is counter service downstairs and the seating is upstairs but the food and service is worth the extra steps.
Incredible food! It was extremely delicious and comforting. I would come back here again! The cutlery and ambience is adorable. Definitely worth checking out!
The only indication this place exists is the OPEN flag waving about. The sign in the door is very hard to read. You order first then go upstairs to wait for food to be delivered. Highly recommend the lemon chicken. We also got the wide noodles with braised beef, the flower kiss drink, and the pork belly spring rolls. All of it was delicious.
