Crema's Take

This narrow, bustling spot in Boise's Hyde Park is a grab-and-go haven where fresh-baked pastries and rich brownies steal the show alongside made-to-order breakfast that consistently impresses. The compact space means you're ordering at the counter and likely eating elsewhere, but regulars keep coming back for the quality of every bite—from the brisket sandwiches to those dense, dark chocolate brownies that demand to be savored slowly. It's the kind of place that becomes a quick ritual during your time in Boise, beloved by families and coffee lovers alike who prioritize excellent food over leisurely indoor lingering.

Loved this little spot for breakfast and coffee. They are busy!! It’s a little narrow and really no indoor seating, but lots of food options to choose from, and we appreciated their kids menu. Their baked goods all looked amazing, but I only tried their star cookie which was yum. I tried their breakfast burrito and egg sandwich, and both were very good. As an east coaster, I personally would love some ketchup on my egg sandwiches, but they don’t have that as an option unfortunately. These sandwiches are served with salsa. We came back the next day for lunch, I tried their north end club, but can’t eat cold cuts because of my pregnancy. They were nice enough to offer making it with their roast turkey, but charged an additional $9, on top of the $11 sandwich, so a $20 sandwich - we did it, but it simply wasn’t worth it for that price.

My sister and I stopped here while visiting Boise. The breakfast options are sooo good. (note: it’s more of an order and go place with little indoor seating) but so good. It’s made fresh & hit. A 55 year old starter was used for my sister’s breakfast biscuit sandwich and I had an incredible huevos ranchero burrito with ice banana bread latte. So good!

By far one of my favorite places to grab some yummy food and coffee and then go far a walk in the area. I have not had one bad thing when ordering from here and the employees are always The brisket sandwich for lunch has been my all time favorite so far with a Havana latte and star chip cookie. Perfect place to stop by and grab some grub before heading next door to make your own candle or taking a walk around the historic district. (Brisket sandwich, certified egg sandwich with bacon, and Havana latte pictured below)

IYKYK. Brownies: Dense and oh-so-rich dark chocolate goodness served up in a square, slightly chilled. Just one ☝🏽 bite is enough to send your eyes rolling back into your head. Um, yeah. 🤤 Cookies: Dark chocolate chip “stars” ⭐️ are their TM cookie. Fresh baked daily (like everything); a delicious classic and staple for traditionalists! Don’t forget your choice of milk 🥛 Butterscotch Budino: Danger in the most deliciously smooth way. The dreamy cool butterscotch flavor will transport you to another place, where nothing else matters and voices fade into the background…if just for a moment. Served chilled. Don’t let the petite size fool you, it’s rich and worth the splurge. An array of breakfast options, hot sandwiches and crisp, flavorful salads are offered (niçoise is my fav). They offer both made to order and some in chilled case for takeaway. Also known for their fresh baked English muffins, they sell packages to take home… but know that they go fast! Seating: Bar top only along the wall. It IS limited and be prepared to sit close to others with the (typical) line of customers bustling behind you. **There are NO tables with chairs** Staff: are consistently friendly and welcoming and always provide a smile or recommendation. Atmosphere: Comfortable and fast paced. More often than not it’s bustling, especially on you guessed it, weekends and mornings. Gifts and books? Yes. They’ve a small section upon entering where one will find greeting cards, cookbooks, children’s books and small, unique and curious gifts. Place always smells delicious.

Certified Kitchen and Bakery quickly became my go-to spot during a 3-week house sit in Boise’s Hyde Park—and for good reason. Everything I tried was fresh and consistently delicious. I sampled nearly all of their pastries and salads, and they never missed. The Cobb salad is a standout, and the tuna salad is equally satisfying. Friendly vibe, quality ingredients, and reliable flavor. 5 stars all the way!
