DG's Espresso

Crema's Take
“Tucked in Anchorage, this espresso-focused spot has built a loyal following over years of consistently excellent coffee and creative signature drinks like their standout Love Bug Lotus. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to linger with a full breakfast menu and light bites, though regulars note the service experience has been a bit uneven lately.”

Love this place :) Always super friendly. Great coffee every time ive been, for the last two years!
Tried DG’s Espresso for the first time recently because of their Valentine’s menu and now I’m officially a fan. Everything was *so* good. I ordered the Love Bug Lotus and was really impressed with how nicely balanced it was. Lotus drinks can sometimes lean way too sweet, but this one was smooth, flavorful, and not overpowering at all, perfectly done. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito and wow. It was packed with hashbrowns, eggs, reindeer sausage, and cheese, served hot and fresh with a side of sour cream and salsa. Super filling, super flavorful, and exactly what you want from a drive-thru breakfast. Service was great too, friendly, efficient, and welcoming, which always makes the experience even better. I’m already excited to go back and try more drinks and food. DG’s just earned a spot in my regular coffee rotation
I’ve been a regular here for a while and used to really enjoy stopping in, but over the last few months the experience has gone downhill. I’ve overheard employees talking negatively about their work environment , which is uncomfortable as a customer. The attitude especially seems to come from the younger blonde girl she often comes across short and irritated. I understand everyone has bad days, but when this becomes the normal experience, it’s disappointing. Customer service matters, especially at a place people come to start their day.
I usually love coming here and love the drinks but recently I’ve noticed that some of the girls seemed annoyed to talk or take my order or deal with a customer? I’m a fellow barista as well so I get it, but it’s uncomfortable to be dealt with that attitude. I am not one to complain or try to be a troubling customer but this one incident with a certain barista just always makes me feel unwelcomed
I went here because my pup was at the hospital under sedation. I ordered a 24oz extra thick blackberry/ cantaloupe. The drink was definitely not extra thick, & I am still trying to figure out if blackberry was used, I definitely do not think cantaloupe was. I usually, go to boom coffee, Miss hoku makes fantastic drinks, but you guys were so close & I had heard alot of good things about you. Mabey it was an off day.🤷🏽♀️
