Crema's Take
“Tucked into a San Rafael strip mall near the 101, this spot brings an unexpected Thai influence to specialty coffee that genuinely stands out—their Thai coffee beans and espresso are smooth and flavorful enough to have regulars coming back for more. The cozy interior with just a few small tables creates an intimate, quiet vibe perfect for a genuine coffee break rather than a rushed grab, and the warm hospitality (plus free wifi and bathrooms) makes it feel like a real destination rather than just a freeway pit stop. Whether you're heading to Napa or just passing through, their thoughtful approach to both traditional espresso and creative drinks like chai and matcha tea makes it worth the detour.”

Stopped here on the way from SF to Napa and it was the perfect coffee shop pit stop. They offer a great variety of coffee and tea options, many with a distinct Thai influence. The authentic Thai coffees and teas are especially noteworthy, with beans sourced from Thailand and roasted in-house. In addition to drinks, they also have smoothies, boba, and some food options. The thoughtful Thai decor throughout the space is beautiful and adds a unique charm, and the service was excellent. We ordered the Thai iced coffee and green tea—both were fantastic—but we’ll definitely be stopping again on our next road trip to try their boba.
Free wifi and bathroom for customers. Very warm inside on a chilly day. There’s 3 small tables, which is a fair amount of seating. I came in a bit before 3pm on a Tuesday and no one was here- very quiet, which might be preferable if you want to read or get some work done on your laptop. I’m not a big coffee person but I got a peppermint mocha to sit inside and use the restroom and I enjoyed it. There’s boba options and food like bagels, croissants, and muffins too.
The drinks are awesome. I haven’t tried one that didn’t make me want for more. The espresso also has lots of flavor and is smooth.
Thai coffee beans caught my eye when this place showed up in a search. So, we went to check it out. Location is in a strip mall close to the 101 freeway on-ramp and is surrounded by budget stores. Surroundings are modest and even though they have a couple outdoor seating options, the proximity to the freeway and associated noise made it less attractive to us. Indoors was pleasant but basic. Coffee and other beverages menu is extensive. A roaster is on display and they sell their beans by the pound. We had a flat white and a latte. The espresso flavor was nice, aromatic and smooth, a medium roast is my guess. We would have liked to get a couple pastries but the choices did not look appealing. Asked the person at the cash register if the baked goods were made in house. Got a flat no and no further attempt to sell those products. So we passed and had just the coffee beverages. Espresso drinks are reasonably priced and the quality was good, so we might go back when all we are looking for is just coffee
Great place to stop off of 101 for a quick cup of coffee. They make a pretty good chai, and also have boba tea, which I’ll have to try next time.
