Crema's Take

Rise + Grind brings a playful, irreverent energy to Durham's coffee scene with hilariously named drinks like the "Iced Salty Karen" that actually deliver on flavor—think smokey vanilla with salted caramel foam. Beyond the creative espresso drinks, their house-made bagel sandwiches (the namesake "Rise & Grind" is legendary) and rotating donut selection keep the line moving with both quick-grabbers and lingerers, all in a bright, welcoming spot that feels perfectly calibrated for a college town vibe without the chaos.

That rise and grind sandwich is out of this world amazing. The names for the drinks are really funny, I got an iced salty Karen, smokey vanilla with caramel and salted foam on top. Im never going to Dunkin or Starbucks again. The bathrooms are kept clean and the artwork everywhere is delightful. Downside, they can get very busy, so during popular times make sure you account for it.

Drinks were good, got holiday special made with eggnog which was delicious but could have been hotter. Both bagel sandwiches we more were good except I ordered a French toast bagel and got an everything bagel instead.

Had the rise & grind was bad the sausage patty was extremely dry was unable to take no more than 2 bites. The shack up was good though. Probably will skip here and go to the works next time.

Beautiful location! Perfect for a college town, not too busy or crowded. Quick service as well. I got an Asiago bagel and it was very good, chewy, warm, and cheesy. Personally it had a bit too much cream cheese for me, and it was a bit overbearing, but overall it was good!

Incredible flavors, great variety of donuts, bagels, house made cream cheeses. Lots of coffee options. The staff is absolutely amazing, the atmosphere is inviting. super clean spot following all COVID regulations. A must visit.
