Crema's Take

This charming new bakery tucked in the Burlington arcade is making waves with incredibly fresh French pastries, especially their buttery madeleines and caramelized canelés that locals are genuinely excited about. The friendly staff and leisurely sit-down atmosphere create a perfect spot to linger over specialty drinks like matcha canelés and explore pastries you won't find at typical coffee shops. While they're still hitting their stride on speed, the quality and care they're putting into each pastry makes it worth the wait.

New coffee shop/bakery on Lake. Very friendly and very good canales and madeleines. Not something you find in other places. A bit slow but also new opening so I think it will get better.

New bakery alert in Pasadena! BU bakery located in the Burlington arcade off Lake specializes in French pastries, specifically madeleines, canales and dacoquiose. The madeleines are buttery - we really enjoyed the passion guava one. The canales have a crunchy outside with a soft flavorful center. And we tried a dacoquiose for the first time and loved the soft cookie and black sesame filling. The cloud drinks were delicious. There are tables outside to enjoy your treats, their team is super friendly and they have a choose any 4 box for $18 which is perfect to try all the pastries. Pro tip: Free 2 hour parking in the back!

We stopped by this café and really enjoyed it. The madeleine was super fresh — soft, light, and just the right amount of buttery, with that perfect just-baked feel. I also had the matcha, which I really appreciated because it wasn’t overly sweet. It had a nice, balanced flavor where you could actually taste the matcha instead of just sugar. Overall, it felt like a place that pays attention to the details — simple items done really well. Definitely a nice spot if you’re looking for a light treat and a good, not-too-sweet matcha.

Cute shop. Ordered the matcha canele, triple chocolate Madeline and a chocolate raspberry Dacquoise They were decent. I wouldn't say out of this world, but they were good. The canele had a harder outer texture and soft middle. The Madeline was good, but I'm not an expert on French pastries. I've never had a Dacquoise before but it tasted kinda like a soft shortbread cookie with a Nutella like crème filling. The service is very friendly and I love the shops in this little courtyard. 3 pastries for about $16

To be honest not a big fan in canelé, but when craving for it this is the place I would head to.
