Yellow

Crema's Take
“Yellow is a DC standout where exceptional Middle Eastern-inspired pastries and creative coffee drinks steal the show—think golden date lattes alongside zaatar croissants filled with labneh and those legendary potato bites that keep people coming back. The café has mastered the art of the quick grab with serious quality, though the energetic vibe and music can run loud if you're lingering for conversation. It's the kind of place where every visit feels like a discovery, from the fresh bread to the inventive seasonal drinks that locals make mandatory stops whenever they're in the city.”

i am still dreaming of the meal i had here. the potato bites are heavenly, and the baklava ice cream just melted in my mouth. their bread was fresh and the kebabs themselves had the perfect amount of flavor. next time i am in dc i will be revisiting!!
Pretty decent food but the music is so loud that my throat was hurting after having a casual conversation with a friend over dinner. Servers were nice and respectful but weren’t very attentive to us and we had to wait quite some time for our checks. The seating was exceptionally uncomfortable as well. I would recommend checking it out but not ideal for conversations or a relaxed vibe.
This place is amazing! I absolutely love Yellow. I’ve been multiple times, tried multiple things and have yet to be disappointed. I seriously think this is one of the best cafes in DC. It is an instant recommendation when I hear someone is a foodie or into trying new foods. I highly recommend the Skeeha, it is so flavorful and absolutely delicious. My one comment is that I noticed they switched their potato side dish. It used to be the thousand layer potato type, which was delicious, but now it is more hashbrown. It is still delicious, but just a minor change that impacted how you eat it. Additionally, be prepared for a line/wait!!
I have to make a trip to YELLOW every time I'm in DC and it never disappoints. First time in the Union Market location. This visit: Golden date latte, lamb pita, labne zaatar croissant... all delicious. Was super sweet to see Chef Rafidi in the restaurant working alongside his staff. 🔥
Great place, the coffee is really good. It’s small and there was a line, but it moves fast. We had the zaatar croissant, which comes filled with labneh, though I think they could put a little more. We also tried another pastry with pistachio filling. Highly recommended!
