Marielena's Bakery Panadería
640 Coors Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM
Crema's Take
“Marielena's is a beloved neighborhood panadería where the real draw is the constantly rotating selection of fresh-baked pan dulces and traditional Mexican breads that sell out quickly because they're made fresh daily. The casual, family-friendly spot captures that nostalgic comfort of childhood bakery memories, though service can be inconsistent and the early morning selection is limited since everything arrives warm from the ovens throughout the morning. Pair your perfectly warm pan with a traditional coffee drink and you've got an authentic taste of Albuquerque's bakery culture.”

Love there panez there 🍞 are so yummy con café
Delicious and fresh baked goods. My friend and I randomly got a hankering for pan dulces from our childhood and set out on a mini adventure. We found this little hole in the wall and we are thrilled. We snatched up several bakery items, including those little baked piggies, for such a low price!
Not going to lie the bread is good, but the service is horrible. It was my first and last time going. When I was picking out the bread I was told I could not grab from the bottom shelf since it was alread sold yet they still left it on the shelf. When i was ready to pay I told the man to charge me 4 bags of white bread and he told me to grab them with an attitude. When I was aware I was going to grab them but I wanted him to charge me so I wouldn't have to get back in line.
They can make some really good bread! But most of the time they have just a few different selections of bread cause they run out quick. Or a lot of times they'll say that breads in certain trays are for special orders, leaving Us store customers with less options to choose from. I think they should make more specially on the weekends. The owner (man) is not so friendly and it seems like he's always in a bad mood. His wife on the other side is super friendly and She's always asking about how your day is going and specially if everything was OK in their store.
The bread is made fresh everyday. Upon arriving at 8:15 the bread was not yet set out except for a handful of pieces. They open at 7:00 so I expected them to be fully operational. I grabbed a few pieces and was told certain trays were special ordered. So it left us with a very limited selection. Upon paying, with a debit card, we were let known that the girl on duty would have to call another worker to use the Square app. Luckily I had some cash on hand. The girl on duty was very nice but we will not be going back.
