Merit Coffee

Merit Coffee always delivers, and this visit was no exception. The drip with the Miguel Guzman Honduran blend was sublime – baked pear, brown sugar, and cloves lingered beautifully. No acidity, no bitterness. The cortado was good too, perfectly balanced with smooth espresso and just the right amount of steamed milk for that silky texture. Casual spot, quality brews.

I was excited to try this place and they got a lot of people through very quickly. The problem was the espresso was sour, and the ladies at the cash register seemed frustrated/rude with any questions. They should’ve expected large crowds with new customers due to the new location and the farmers market. Not sure if the sourness was due to the grind or pouring the shots too quickly.

So excited about this shop in the Mueller area. And I'm here to defend them because no idea what Lourdes is talking about. That review sounds like you've never been to a coffee shop and want it for yourself. If you order 5 shots and 4 syrups, what do you expect? Anywho, the shop is great and brand new. There is more than enough inside and outside seating, 2 registers, and the environment is welcoming. Yes there is a line but it goes by fast, the baristas are awesome and hustling. My cappuccino was amazing, and the cake pops are delish. There can be a crowd but that's because people live to hover while they wait for their coffee. Overall this is such a great addition, I'm so happy it's here, and I'll be going back always.

I was very excited for this cafe to open for good coffee in the mueller area. Unfortunately I am having some issues with the location. -The cafe is tiny. There is no real space to wait for to go orders, there’s limited seating, it’s constantly loud from how many people are in there at the same time, and the space to wait in line to order is also crowded that it feels like you’re on top of the people sitting in the cafe. -twice already I’ve been in to order there has been a singular person preparing drinks. This created a wait time of about 20 minutes for the singular drink I ordered. A customer brought up the wait time for their latte and the barista said “you ordered a drink with 4 shots. It’s going to be a wait.” Which was rude but maybe they were stressed about being the only person making drinks at 7:30AM. This is not the place you come to get your drink before work, unless you order online. -Which brings me to my next point: online/ app ordering: the customization online is limited when it comes out to the amount of syrup you can add to your beverages. I want less than the standard on the drink and I can’t customize that. So this limits my (and I’m sure other customers) availability to place to go orders and skip the line. Lastly, the barista handling the food items kept fixing her hair then handling food items. That’s not safe food handling. I like the coffee but this is a place I’d come to only if I had time to stand around and wait for my drinks and lounge. The coffee is delicious. Maybe these are kinks they can work out with time.

Y’all , this place just opened a few days ago and they are in high demand (customers are always in and out of here)👏🏼 I’ve been in twice, had a cereal milk cold brew and a Cinnamon Toast Crunch matcha 🤤 Both delicious! I’ll be back💝
