Crema's Take

Café M is a beloved neighborhood spot in Savannah with genuine charm and heart, where regulars keep coming back for standout items like their celebrated Savannah sandwich featuring what fans swear is the best chicken salad around. While the tiny kitchen means waits can stretch long during busy times, the cozy atmosphere and sweet staff make it feel worth the patience, especially if you skip the house coffee and opt for their better espresso drinks. It's the kind of independent café that captures that nostalgic, unpretentious vibe—perfect for a leisurely breakfast or lunch when you're not in a rush.

We had Valentine’s Day breakfast here! It was such a cute and cozy spot! It seemed like a pretty popular spot! We got two hot lattes and a salad and a breakfast sandwich. We had the Rae of sunshine latte and the tiramisu latte! Both were made very well and tasted great! I got the breakfast sandwich with mozzarella and sausage on a croissant and then my man had the Atlantic salad with smoked salmon! Both dishes were delicious and well made! The art on the walls are for sale, they sell tea, jewelry, and even coffee mugs with succulents in them! ‘‘It was a little pricy since it was almost $50 for two drinks and what we got to eat but no complaints! Would recommend for an elevated breakfast or brunch!

The food was good and staff was very sweet and polite… but the wait, oof. The quality of the bread and ingredients on the sandwiches was very good, and they did warn us it would take a while, but it was a solid half hour from order to service made for a long morning before getting out and about. It is a nice cafe, but not a grab and go place. Espresso was average and room temperature by the time it arrived.

We waited 45 minutes before asking about our order. They forgot it. So we were there for a very long time. Their kitchen is super tiny so we were trying to give them some time. They handled it well. Gave us some extra croissants and got our order out as quick as they could. In the end it was probably the best breakfast croissant I've ever had. Super good. Flaky, buttery and the perfect amount of eggs to meat to cheese.

Ok. Food was ok. Similar to what you get from a back street run down cafe in NYC on the go. Croissants were dry and coffee was watered down- don’t order house coffee. Service was good. They served our drinks in to go cups while we were dining in. Besides that, they were courteous and helpful enough. Interior is run down and old with no views on the river. Outside seating is available. Given it’s a touristy place, no regulars are there, so there is no culture among the customers. Maybe it was our luck, but the crowd during our visit were fairly rude rushing us out of our seats with looks and words alike to be seated. Decent experience for us as tourists. Nothing exceptional though.

Love this place. I order quite often. I love the Savannah sandwich on a croissant. Truly, the best chicken salad I’ve ever had. Love the atmosphere. Recently I ordered lunch from them on Uber eats and they forgot my chips, no big deal! When I ordered the next day, I called back just to gently remind them to include the chips and they were so sweet. They sent two complementary treats and the gesture alone speaks volumes. Love supporting local businesses like this one.
