Surf City Coffee
205 D Roland Ave, Hampstead, NC
Crema's Take
“Surf City Coffee feels less like a transaction and more like visiting Pat's living room, where the owner herself often crafts your hand-made beverage while you browse rotating local artwork and regional artisan goods. The regulars and travelers alike rave about the knowledgeable staff's warmth and the quality of both classic and creative drinks—from perfectly spiced chai lattes to signature creations—all meant to be lingered over in a genuinely welcoming space.”

We went to this shop while we were on the island. Pat, the owner, is everyone's grandma and welcomed us as such! Her staff is phenomenal and there is a plethora of wonderful local artwork. But the real gem is the coffee and food!! I'm a coffee snob of the Nth degree. This is some of the best coffee I've ever had! Pat even took the time to show my son her collection of fossils. 100% will be back!
This is an amazing local coffee shop. Very knowledgeable about coffee and some of the friendliest people you will meet. I had a delicious hot Chai latte that was fantastic. My husband, the coffee snob, greatly enjoyed their latte and even sampled the straight espresso and loved it. Will definitely be back. Thank you Pat and staff for making us feel right at home
This place is popular with visitors and locals! There's so many great little treasures look at and buy. Most, if not all, of the items for sale are by local artists. The staff are quick! I can tell they are used to staying busy and keeping the lines moving. Everyone is so friendly! I'm gluten and dairy free (not by choice). I didn't always have a limited diet, so it's hard for me to find tasty baked goods that I can eat. They have a small selection of gluten free muffins and loaf slices, a few of them are even dairy free. I tried the pumpkin pecan muffin and it was fantastic! They also have a limited breakfast menu, smoothies, and frape coffee drinks. I got a latte. I have had better coffee in the area, but it was still good. Overall, I'd definitely come here again for the food, atmosphere and service! A heads up, there's not much free parking for the shops on this corner. There is paid parking next door, and around the block, which includes some beach access parking. Parking is strictly enforced! I say that but just because of the signs posted, but I watched parking enforcement driving around and tracking vehicles.
What a perfect little gem that you must visit. Drinks with local pastries and shopping. Perfect atmosphere, perfectly timed beverages! There are so many menu selections that it's hard to choose... but no worries, we'll be back again and again. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. You deserve it!
Such a personable and amazing place to visit when I come in each month to care for my infusion patient! It is now a must to stop by and enjoy my hand-crafted coffee from either the owner or one of their friendly staff members. They make me forget that I am four hours from home! You will do yourself a disservice if you don't visit this local shop while you're in this charming town.
