Crema's Take

Mulvi's Coffee is a charming small-town spot in Hattiesburg where baristas care enough to add latte art to your to-go drinks and craft creative signature beverages like their raspberry truffle latte. The downstairs study nooks and welcoming atmosphere make it a natural gathering place for students and remote workers, though fair warning that pricing runs a bit high and service can be inconsistent. What keeps people coming back is the genuine effort behind the coffee itself and that cozy, unpretentious vibe that feels like your local third place.

I went on Sunday around 4pm and ordered a 12oz raspberry truffle latte. The guy at the desk (tall, thin) rung me up for a small (8oz). I told him I wanted a 12oz and he didn't say anything but picked up a small cup and set it back down. It looked like 8oz but I took his (lack of) work for it. After he gave it I showed him the correct cup size (12oz) on the counter and said that was the size I had ordered. He gave me this smirk like I was in the wrong while asking if I wanted him to make another one. No apology at all. I said no to avoid making more of a scene (there were others at the desk). Normally this place it great and the upstairs room is really nice but this was unpleasant and I won't becoming back.

I do love the atmosphere of the place, and the coffee is great- just wish the service was better. There is a food menu on the blackboard but when I ask about ordering food, the wait staff look at me like I’m crazy for wanting food. Barista was very rude and got my order wrong, didn’t bring my pastry out. Would go again provided the service gets better!

Great atmosphere for students who want to study and lounge. However I am very displeased of the price I paid for an Americano, as the price is $3-4 more expensive than what you would normally pay at other local coffee shops. If you are not conscious of price then this is a good coffee shop, otherwise your pockets will be light

So, coffee is good BUT the premises are filthy. The downstairs area had two small tables that were both taken- that's fine, but the other downstairs area was full of boxes of inventory supplies. No place to sit but told there was seating upstairs. Great! We're ok with that. Get up there and it was a mess! Stained carpet and worse it looked like it hadn't been Vacuumed in a while. Trash and game pieces all over the floor- very unkempt. A total mess. A part of the coffee experience is the atmosphere. It would be great is the premises weren't such a pig stye.

Cute spot. Very "small town coffee shop" vibe, which is always nice! Wife got a latte, I got a mocha latte. Staff took the time to make latte art on their to-go lattes! Those are the special little touches that show when a place takes pride and effort in their craft and the coffee was fantastic! Highly recommend a stop to this place.
