Cafe Cocoa Mo
, Orlando, FL
Crema's Take
“Tucked away in a quiet corner of Orlando, Cafe Cocoa Mo is an intimate gem that specializes in Japanese kakigori (shaved ice) that stands out for its quality and creativity, paired with a serene, peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds apart from typical cafe experiences. The space is small and intentionally exclusive—they seat one party at a time—which adds to the charm and allows you to really settle in with their carefully crafted desserts and specialty drinks, many served in beautiful handmade ceramic pieces. If you're seeking a slower pace and unique flavors you won't find elsewhere in the area, this hidden spot rewards those patient enough to navigate the shared parking lot and find their tucked-away entrance.”

I came here one night after dinner wanting a very unique dessert. I'd never had Japanese shaved ice, and I'd heard that this the best version of it in all of Orlando. So I was pretty hyped. We pull in pretty late, but thankfully there is parking in their tiny little parking lot that they share with Kaya. We browse the menu, and their Classics all sound pretty good, but the seasonal they were offering was just too good to pass up, the Ube Coconut (Black sesame corn flakes, Milk or oat milk, Pandan jelly, Jackfruit, Sweet red beans). When I first saw this thing, first of all, it was stunningly beautiful, but secondly, I was worried that maybe all of the toppings were just sprinkled on top and that the shaved ice was going to be barren and boring within, towards the center. But boy was I wrong. Everything was mixed and layered well throughout the whole ball of happiness. Everything played its part in making it more interesting. The obvious crunch from the corn flakes, the sweetness of the pervasive oak milk, the chewy jellies, everything did its job. Very well-crafted dessert. So thanks to Koko, because my very first example of Japanese shaved ice was really a club banger, and I can't imagine it being any better anywhere else.
Place is cute and has a few spots to seat outside if its weather permitting, the parking lot is shared. I got the strawberry Matcha and would rate it as a 7/10 had better ones here in Orlando. Will come back for another “non matcha” drink for sure.
Went there today especially to try their Kakigori. Parking in that area is not fun, it was really full despite it being around 1pm on a weekday. Bring some time and patience to find a spot. Now, I would have loved knowing that the Kakigori (shaved ice) was seasonal and will only be back in spring. A bit disappointing, though if I had known that they have a website (and Instagram), I would have checked. I instead decided to go with their coconut based slushi (Matcha and Maracuja topping) and it was really good. The combo sounds a bit weird at first but makes for a COLD!!, creamy, sweet AND fruity drink. Very tasty and worth trying (9.50usd). Note that this is a small place and only 1 group of few people can fit in at a time. Will def be back to try out the rest and finally get myself that kakigori I was craving. Just wanna say, there is also a small restaurant in that same place that looks like it would be worth trying!
Different than any other Orlando restuarant and cafe, here feels peaceful and I‘m in love. All desert is amazing delicious and resreshing, and hand made ceramic pieces are gem too ❤️ you must visit here if you are looking for cool spot in Orlando!
What a hidden gem! This place is tucked in the back and not the easiest to find, but that just adds to the charm. Only one party allowed inside at a time just cause it is so small. I LOVED it and it was very cute. The presentation is amazing, and the flavors are great! I will definitely be coming back and bringing my friends!
