Crema's Take
“Juice Wave is a fruit bowl destination that's earned its cult following in San Diego with Instagram-worthy açai and pitaya bowls loaded generously with fresh fruit and house-made nut butters that reviewers can't stop dreaming about. The wait is real and the shop doesn't hide it, but customers consistently say these are the best bowls in the city—prepared with visible care and attention that makes each visit feel special. Beyond the bowls, their creative specialty drinks and fresh pastries round out a spot that's become a must-stop for both locals and travelers passing through.”

Best acai bowl I’ve ever had. ⭐️🌊🍓 Not only delicious but beautiful and prepared with love. Do yourself a favor and go get one!!
I only had 24 hours in San Diego and I made sure I could to stop here before leaving. I’m for sure dreaming about this açai bowl when I’m back home. So much fruit pile on top and it was all sweet and fresh!
1st time have a Acai bowls, and I was blown away! I'm hooked. The flavor from the homemade nut butter and the granola was outstanding. And I loved the bite size chopped fruit. A beautiful site to see, and amazing flavors to taste.
Yes, there’s a wait but it’s made very clear before you order. If you’re not up for waiting, don’t order. But honestly these are the best açaí/pitaya bowls in SD, packed with fresh fruit every time! I always bring friends here when they visit. Pro tip: take a nice walk around the bay while you wait!
During my time as a UC San Diego student I have regularly visited Blue Bowl for their açaí bowls. I approached my first experience at Juice Wave with optimistic expectations. The experience failed to match the expectations I had for this establishment. The 40-minute wait was pretty wild. The long wait time for my order was unacceptable since the final product failed to meet my expectations. The ingredients were fresh, sure—but the flavor was pretty average, maybe even a bit underwhelming compared to other spots around San Diego. The portion size was acceptable but the prices were reasonable yet the extended wait time and average taste made the experience less satisfying. The establishment provides an average experience that fails to impress customers, especially with the lack of seating area for customers. Try it for yourself and make your own opinion, but for me it was a one and done experience.
