Crema's Take

Tucked on a charming corner of Esplanade Avenue, this beloved neighborhood gem is run by a genuinely warm Cuban proprietor who crafts strong coffee and fresh pastries alongside their signature snow balls and creative sandwiches like jalapeño ham and cheese bagels. It's the kind of place where an elderly baker works her magic without a menu, where your dog gets treats and attention, and where locals and visitors alike find themselves returning again and again for the unhurried, welcoming atmosphere that feels distinctly New Orleans.

Delicious and refreshing drinks/sno cones. We also got the Cuban which came with a fantastic sauce. Highly recommend.

Little neighborhood places like this need to be treasured, so they don’t go away. The proprietor here is a genuinely nice man, and deserves lots of business. Plus, as a not a big sweets person, the raw snowball flavors are an amazing alternative for someone who just wants an icy treat that tastes like real fruit. Please support this great small local business!

For ambiance, Flagpole NOLA is such a cute coffee shop. On a corner along a charming street, a Cuban man runs the cafe making strong coffee and pastries. Parking along a nearby street, I ordered a hazelnut latte. It was made with love, but wasn't my favorite latte. However, the experience was great from service to space.

I made a hard stop as I was strolling on Esplanade Ave with my husky. A counter for coffee sipping? Homemade pastries by an elderly woman who bakes without a menu based on her mood? 2 treats for my Doggo? Outside seating where I can people watch and enjoy the best coffee Nola has to offer? All of it. YES! I joke Not. The coffee is smooth and strong enough to put a pep in your step. Don’t waste a minute going anywhere else. Stop here and stay awhile. The owner gets a 5 ⭐️ for a great attitude and smile.

Love this place! I come here every time I visit New Orleans. Their specialty snow balls are a must-try, and I really liked their jalapeño ham and cheese bagel sandwich. They have dog treats and gave my dog a pup cup! The service is always great, definitely a spot to check out if you’re in the area!
