Crema's Take
“This Richmond gem brings authentic Yemeni hospitality to life with housemade specialties like their acclaimed Yemeni Latte—a strong, beautiful brew that pairs perfectly with freshly fried falafel and generous platters of fragrant rice dishes. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere and genuinely helpful staff make it feel like you're dining at a neighbor's table, especially if you're exploring Yemeni cuisine for the first time. Large portions, affordable prices, and that unmistakable care in every dish make this a must-visit neighborhood treasure.”

This Yemeni food was absolutely delicious! The service was amazing—the young lady was very kind and helped us order since we had no idea what to choose. I ordered the chicken over rice, and it was so good. The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. The bread was incredibly soft and delicious. My husband ordered the okra soup and was very happy with it—he said it was delicious. Overall, I give this place a 5/5. I highly recommend it!
Great new yemeni food spot, great service and good food. Maraq need more cumin, fries could be better. Falafel was good and unlike most restaurants it seems fresh and made in house. If they have the budget I'd recommend they remove that shower and add bidet spray to toilet and put a baby changing table instead of the shower area so it's more convenient for families.
Delicious, authentic food and affordable prices. I recommend the Yemeni Latte, strong and beautiful. The portions here are large, and the food is tasty. A great addition to the neighborhood.
We tried a little feast at Yemen Café & Restaurant and absolutely loved it. We ordered the Yemen Café Platter for Two, A must-try if you want a full taste of what they do best. The platter came with Fahsah, lamb haneeth, half-chicken with rice and bread* everything was so generous and satisfying. We also got a mezze platter, a mango juice (so refreshing), and Adeni tea 🫖 strong, flavorful, and perfect to finish the meal. What stood out: • The food was rich, aromatic, and comforting each dish felt full of flavor and home-style cooking. • The portions were generous; pairing the platter + sides + drinks made it a filling meal for two. • The ambiance was warm and traditional, with a layout that felt welcoming they have spacious seating and special entrances for families, which makes it ideal for groups or family dinners. • The service was kind and quick. Each table had call-buttons for service, which is a nice touch and made everything convenient. Highly recommend the Platter for Two and finish with that mango juice + Adeni tea combo.
First time in here. I love it. It is amazing place. Clean, good for traditional families. Special and private place for family or couples. You must visit this place and you won't regret it. Their food is so delicious. I will come to this place every time I come to the bay area. Take your family and visit them. They have a private door for families to enter and they are served with females. No male will ever go to the family section. Check my photos and have an idea about Yemen Cafe. A photo of the menu will be on the photos.
