Crema's Take

Tucked behind a 7-Eleven in Truckee, this intimate bakery punches way above its weight with an impressive gluten-free program helmed by an owner who's developed her own proprietary flour blend—the pastries and breakfast items are so genuinely delicious that diners often forget they're eating GF. The no-frills space with striped cabinet art and minimal seating creates an unpretentious, local-favorite vibe where you're more likely to chat with Liz and her crew than pose for Instagram shots, making it the kind of neighborhood spot that builds fierce loyalty through excellent coffee and treats that actually taste indulgent.

Ambiance- limited seating, minimal decor, one table outside with two chairs, a couple small plants, cool paint (stripes) on the front cabinets. Not much too look at and hidden behind a 7-11, but the locals know what's up- gluten free bakery goods. Food- most of their baked goods are gluten-free. One tiny cabinet houses the non-gluten-free items to prevent cross contamination for those who are sensitive or allergic to gluten. They have many gf options: donut holes, croissants, quiche, popovers bars, muffins, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, etc. Service is great- Everyone was helpful and friendly. There is a tiny station to fill your own water cups and add your cream and sugar to coffee. The only thing that's slightly weird is the microwave to warm up your own food. I asked a worker if they could warm up my croissant, expecting they had a toaster oven behind the jointer. She directed me to the self serve microwave. Meh. It seems that all the work going into gluten free food and avoiding cross contamination, that having a separate toaster oven would be more professional and safe. However, it doesn't stop the locals from coming back, nor did it stop me from coming back the next morning.

Delicious pastry and treats (almost all gluten free), some breakfast burritos (not gluten free) and quinoa bowls (gf). The owner was super helpful and has her own proprietary gluten free flour blend. And the lemonade was good and refreshing

I absolutely love the selection of gluten-free treats! Everything is wonderfully delicious. My only complaint is that they still use cane sugar. I understand that coconut sugar is more expensive, but personally I would be willing to pay extra.

Liz and her girls have the best thing going in Truckee with this gluten-free bakery and coffee shop. They have incredible, delectable treats that you cannot imagine how they are gluten-free! The pumpkin donut holes are to die for. Coffee is wonderful, too.

Fantastic gluten free options including sweet and savory choices. They also have non-gluten free croissants which were really great. Their coffee was great as a well.
