Benjamin's Bakery

Crema's Take
“This beloved Surfside Beach spot brilliantly balances exceptional espresso-forward coffee with a curated selection of fresh pastries and breakfast sandwiches that locals and visitors keep coming back for. The warm, unhurried atmosphere—with that cozy, almost Portland-like vibe—makes it perfect for lingering over a pour over or meeting up with friends, though expect a delightful crowd during peak hours. The staff's genuine friendliness paired with their attention to both the craft of the coffee and the balance of flavors in their food creates the kind of neighborhood gem that feels like a discovery every time you visit.”

This was our first time and we loved it. The dark roast coffe was fabulous! We had breakfast sandwiches and both were wonderful. Staff is uber friendlt. We WILL be back!
Another hidden gem revealed!! The balance of savory and sweet is fantastic 👏🏻 service is ah-mazing. The vibe is almost Portandia and we are coming back for more ⭐️
If you’re looking to get ripped off, this is the place for you. $10 for a basic breakfast sandwich that contained shreds of pork roll. I’ve never in my life seen pork roll cut so ridiculously thin and then only two slivers of it that don’t even cover half of the sandwich. This place is obviously out to rip off tourists. I live right around the corner and will never return or recommend. I would have been better off with a gas station sandwich. To top it off, the eggs are PREMADE (as told by the employee) and you cannot order a fresh cracked egg. The bagels are also miniature sized and barely fill a toddler up. Photo for proof of how ridiculous it is. Don’t waste your money here!
Cute bakery in the heart of Surfside. Delicious bagels, pastries, sandwiches, coffee/ drinks, etc… service has always been impeccable. The only downside is it does get very crowded and cramped…but I guess that is just a testament to how good the food/service is.
Hotel ran out of coffee early. A daily occurrence and I have or have my coffee. On a whim I looked up best places and a list by Nora Battle came up. I’m sure all of them were good choices and she wrote great comments about each, but being a close local favorite for her and the mention of the bagels had me sold to make the 15 minute drive. I was not disappointed. The menu is great, place is busy but relaxed and just out of the way from the main road. I ended up getting the bagel to go because I had to try this sandwich, Surfside Beach. Outstanding and so was my mocha latte. Just great to enjoy while doing some reading and enjoying a beach view. Wish I lived here so I could go through the menu. We have a similar place where I live and love it. Clearly, like my place, if you want your choice of bagel, you better come early. The variety of cream cheeses were great! Not expensive for what you get. I think Myrtle Beach is one of my new vacation spots and I plan to frequent Benjamin’s again! Highly recommended!
