Crema's Take

Professor Java's Coffee Sanctuary lives up to its name with thoughtfully designed spaces that shift from a bustling social hub to quiet reading nooks, making it genuinely easy to find your vibe whether you're meeting a friend or settling in for focused work. Their espresso-forward approach shines through in the quality of traditional drinks, and the full breakfast and light food menu—including standouts like their Professor's Sandwich—gives you reason to linger beyond just coffee. While service can be inconsistent, the café's artsy, welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff keep locals and travelers alike coming back, especially those who value a thoughtful coffee experience over grab-and-go convenience.

Great little artsy café. Cozy, clean, DELICIOUS and overall great atmosphere. Different rooms for whatever vibe you’re looking for. A more central dining area great for socializing and quiet nooks for studying, working or just some peace and quiet to enjoy your coffee break a bit more privately. The coffee is great and not any more expensive than a starbucks, and the food is really good and fresh. Keep this place in business! I’m not from the local area, but I visit often and this has made it on my list of stops to make while here.

This was... interesting. The person taking my order was super kind and patient while we figured out what we wanted. I ordered a chicken caprese panini (i think that's what it was) and requested it be on whole wheat instead of white bread, a medium mocha latte and a ham and egg breakfast quesadilla. The medium mocha was the size of a large which I did not mind at all. But it wasn't... that good for a coffee shop. The closer to the bottom I got, the more I struggled to drink it. The quesadilla came on a spinach wrap which they don't indicate anywhere, and was dry. My kid isn't a picky eater and he didn't finish it. Took half home and he gave it to the dog. He didn't like it, to my surprise. The panini was actually delicious. Very delicious! However when the person fixing it first set the plate down it was not hot/panini pressed. I gently asked "Is this supposed to be a hot sandwich?" Because sometimes I don't pay attention. She just looked at me and said "yeah it is hot." I said, well it's a panini and its supposed to be pressed like the quesadilla. Also I asked for this on wheat bread and it's on white. The person who took my order kept his expression blank but assisted by putting the sandwich on the panini press. Still no wheat bread. Overall, I wouldn't come back. The food took quite a long time for a quick fix coffee shop (and only a sandwich and quesadilla) over 20 minutes. The one person working was sweet, the other... maybe it was her first day? The coffee size was great, the coffee and flavor not so great. Too inconsistent.

Spouse and I were traveling through and decided to try Professor Java's. Was worth the stop. We both got the the Professors Sandwich - one with bagel, one with croissant. Spouse got coffee; I got (unsweet) ginger tea. 😋
