The Porch Honolulu

The Porch is such a great little spot in Waterfront Plaza on Restaurant Row. The service is amazing — I work in the building and see the team all the time, and you can tell they actually enjoy talking with every customer. The food’s delicious and the menu is way more than a typical coffee shop. They’ve got breakfast and lunch covered. You can also mobile order for quick pickup, and they text you when it’s ready, which makes it super easy. I want to see the porch pop up all over town!

The food is great, but not sure about their communication. First online order waited 45 minutes. Today, did an online order as the line was long. No option to pick the two flavors for the hapa bowl so I went up to the cashier- she verified my order and said she'd take care of it. Fast forward 30 minutes- I have to go up and ask for it. It was in a bag on the back. No one called for it and I was literally sitting right next to the pick up area. The woman who told me she took care of it just shrugged. Like my time is worth nothing. Another kind and obviously more intelligent worker apologized and offered a free pastry. Not trying to get free food, but an acknowledgement that an error was made and then make it right. Not hard to do, so mahalo to the woman who showed me compassion today. You get 5 stars, your co-worker gets none.

Absolutely *loved* our visit to The Porch! I had the avocado toast and an iced vanilla latte, and both were *perfection*. The toast was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated, and the latte hit that perfect balance of smooth coffee and subtle sweetness. My boyfriend and I both agreed it was one of the best coffee shop stops we’ve made — and we visit a lot of cafés!

Things ordered : - Caprese Toast - Turkey Pesto - Matcha with Coconut In the comments I asked for it to be made with love and they have delivered just that! My overall favorite was the Caprese Toast. The Avocado was plentiful and the toast was HEAVY with ingredients. The balsamic vinegar was perfect. Turkey Pesto was light and delicious on a croissant bread and comes with a side salad w/ ranch dressing which complimented the sandwich nicely. Maybe even different dressings would be nice as well. Strawberry vinaigrette or other light dressings. Matcha coconut , I could not really taste the coconut but I did see that it was in there. The matcha part was nice, on the sweeter side which is what I like. I see that The Porch is a nice location, great for university students nearby.. Patients/Employees that use the medical facility on the same property or even people waiting to board the cruise ships and/or have a quick bite after their voyage at sea. Court house is also nearby so if you ever had to kill time and grab a bite.. It's right there. It's cute and they definitely have a nice vibe. Check them out.

Had an amazing experience here! Service and food were both amazing, the only thing I wasn’t the biggest fan of is the coffee in my chai latte not tasting very strong, but that’s my personal preference. We were sitting a decent away from the counter and did not hear our name called so the drink sat out for a few minutes. When we went to pick it up, the owner came out, apologized for the drink sitting out, and made us a new one at no cost while keeping the old one. Incredible service and great vibes overall! 10/10 recommend!
