Crema's Take
“This San Jose gem deserves way more buzz than it gets—it's a beautifully maintained spot where the kitchen takes real care with each order, from perfectly balanced three-chile chilaquiles that prioritize flavor over heat to lavender coffee that feels like a small discovery. Whether you're settling in solo for a quiet morning or pulling tables together for a crew of seven, there's a genuinely welcoming, unhurried vibe that makes it perfect for lingering over housemade pastries and thoughtfully executed breakfast classics like Florentine eggs benedict and chorizo burritos.”

OMG the chilaquiles. I was a little scared because the spicy orange chilaquiles had three chiles next to it on the menu but the spice did not overwhelm the flavor. The salsa was delicious, the beans were luscious, the chips retained just enough crunch... perfection. And if you're worried about passing out after eating it all, don't, there are free refills on the cafe de olla, which was fragrant and perfectly spiced without being overly sweet. Great food, cute space, great service.
Pleasantly surprised with the food. I'm not usually a breakfast person but this was good. We got the Florentine eggs benedict, red salsa chilaquile, chorizo burrito, tres leches pancakes, lavendar coffee latte, peppermint latte, strawberry milkshake, and mazapan milkshake. To start, the seasoning of the food was perfect, not overly salty. My favorite would have to be the florentine eggs benedict. Egg was perfectly runny, hollandaise sauce was paired well, and potatoes cooked perfectly. Tres leches pancakes was not sweet at all which surprised me. Same thing with the milkshakes....it was not overly sweet. Everyone was very sweet so it was a good experience
It is a great place for a quiet breakfast earlyish in the morning. The menu is straightforward and offers many delicious choices. I appreciate the accuracy with which the kitchen follows our customization requests, i.e., extra crispy bacon is just the way I like it and we can actually see the difference between over medium eggs and over easy eggs.
Unexpectedly, absolutely amazing food. This is a cute, well maintained, clean restaurant that's totally underrated. We stopped by here, unplanned on my birthday, and it was absolutely the best choice we could have made. The food is full of flavor. The staff was warm, welcoming, and courteous. The atmosphere is adorable and well-designed. The bathrooms are clean as well and well designed. If I had to make a change, it would be to add noise panels, or greenery to absorb the ambient noise. because it can be very loud. So much that it is hard to communicate with the weight staff. Currently, they have a Tuesday, 10% seniors discount and free coffee on Wednesdays.
Came on a busy Sunday morning. Open seating and a server came and helped us put a table together and get our menus since we were a party of 7. The food didn't come out quickly but I feel like I it didn't take too long either. It's a small kitchen for the number of people that can sit down so just understanding that can set expectations better. Overall the food was pretty good. I had a chicken fried steak which was a generous portion and tasty. The rest that are pictured are a kids breakfast, Canadian bacon eggs Benedict, veggie omelette, mushroom omelette, and the brioche egg sandwich. Something to drink with some espresso that was surprisingly good is the mazapan latte on ice, which is peanut powdered candy. We don't live too far from this place and will definitely come back
