Crema's Take

Tucked into Bend, The Lemon Tree is a sun-drenched breakfast destination where thoughtful details shine through in everything from pillowy scones with strawberries to generously portioned frittatas that beg for a dash of hot sauce. The staff's genuine warmth—like the Minnesota barista who became part of guests' family memories—combined with a dog-friendly patio makes this the kind of place where you're celebrated whether you're catching up with friends, marking a birthday, or bringing the whole crew (pups included). It's the rare breakfast spot where the lemon-bright atmosphere, creative specialty drinks, and homemade pastries all work together to create mornings that actually feel special.

The Lemon Tree 🍋 This is definitely my favorite breakfast place. The atmosphere is beautiful, full of pops of yellow lemons and sunlight. You could sit anywhere in the place and feel like you get a great seat. The service is phenomenal. The waiters are very attentive and be sure to ask for some of their in house hot sauce. It’s delicious. I’ve been there many times over the years and it’s always a fight to not get my favorite dish, The Seared Steak Benedict. It’s the best Benedict I’ve ever had and everyone I’ve taken there that has it says the same. We also love to get the Lemon Blueberry Scone which is a perfect blend of crispy, fluffy, and soft. I’m definitely going to be a lifetime customer.

My dining experience started with a cream scones with strawberries and drizzle. It was nice and soft with a creamy texture. I always think of scones as dry and crumbly. It was very easy to eat and not sweet. Perfectly balanced scone. Avo Hash Smash had hash browns, mashed avocado, grape tomatoes, bacon, and poached eggs. Side of house-made tomatillo sauce. The avocado was the highlight of the dish for me. It had all the flavor and there was a ton of it. No searching for some in each bite. It WAS every bite. And 3 slices of bacon was plenty to eat with every bite and then some. I loved the over easy poached eggs broken oven the bacon. It was soft and delicate but cook through and not wet or soupy. I was impressed with everything I had.

We just had the best experience and wanted to share about it. We were visiting our daughter who lives in Bend and wanted to take her out to celebrate her birthday, but we also had our two pugs in tow. Despite the very chilly weather, Jamie (spelling??) went out of her way to accommodate our party of 5 plus two pugs outside by using heaters and blankets to help us stay comfortable! The food was also so very delicious, especially the Crab cakes and Avocado Smasher as well as the Nutella and Strawberry sandwich and Hot Cocoa for our grand daughter. Seriously, presentation was spectacular and service was cheerful even in the snowy cold weather. Can’t wait to return when we can dine inside (sans pugs)or outside in warmer weather! Thanks for a wonderful Birthday memory for all us.

FETA and SPINACH FRITTATA is awesome. Came as a big full round and not a small triangle slice. Flavor was excellent, loved including some Squirrel On Fire hot sauce on it. I was amazed at the good balance of flavor of the sauce that my boyfriend had to buy a bottle. The House made RASPBERRY Lemonade was amazingly balanced and can actually taste the raspberry with real berries in the glass. The menu was on a QR code you had to scan on the metal piece on the table. Some people around us had hand held menus which confused me. I scanned with my phone and we ordered that way cause we weren’t give any other option nor told what to do. But we guessed right. Service was great. I’m gluten intolerant but they had no pastries or cinnamon rolls gluten free unfortunately. She said they had gluten-free bread they could do in place of the Syed brioche bread that comes with certain dishes. And she said the only pastry type thing they have that is gluten-free is the cheesecake but for breakfast that sounded too heavy for me. There’s one review on here that says it’s very gluten friendly and I wouldn’t say they are for pastries. For toast, yes. And they do show that they care about that. But if you want things that are normally containing wheat, but with a gluten-free option like a scone or something, they don’t have that here. Can’t go wrong with the frittata though Or the raspberry lemonade. My boyfriend got the special which was steak and eggs and bacon, but without the bacon. It melted in your mouth-The steak. He let me try and it was really good. Presentation was also awesome.
