Proyecto Coffee

Crema's Take
“Proyecto Coffee is a gem tucked inside Tempe's climbing gym, where you can sip meticulously crafted espresso and matcha while watching climbers tackle the wall—a uniquely energizing backdrop for your coffee ritual. The baristas pour genuine care into each cup, whether you're ordering their signature cafe de olla or a creative pour-over with house-made syrups that let the coffee's complexity shine through without overwhelming sweetness. Fair warning: service moves at a deliberate pace here, but regulars agree the quality and the owner's warmth make the wait worthwhile.”

Checked this place out for their cafe de olla, was never serviced. I waited 15 minutes (I thought maybe they were on a quick break), after the 15 minutes I asked the attendant for the gym where the barista was and they simply ignored me? I felt so weird and just decided to leave. Not sure if maybe you have to be a member of the gym to be able to order but they should post that some where on their Instagram if that’s the case. Leaving this review in case anyone else who’s not a gym member decides to check it out.
The espresso and matcha at this place is unmatched! Both baristas are so kind and always easy to talk to. I am grateful we have a coffee bar in our gym so I can get a fun drink while I boulder 🧗♀️
This is located inside the climbing gym which is cool. You get a nice view of folks bouldering while sipping on your drink. The service was extremely slow. It took the barista 15 minutes to make me my macha latte and that’s after I went up to her to ask about my order. I was the only customer in there and her response was that she got distracted. The matcha latte tasted watered down. I left after tasting the matcha and went to a different coffee shop near there. Would only recommend for the bouldering, not the coffee.
Made with love! This coffee is fresh and taste like something I’ve never had before! What an awesome experience and the owner was so nice to chat with. Highly recommend!
Incredible high-quality coffee that makes it worth getting a nice pour-over, but if you want a latte you also can't go wrong here. House-made syrups, tasty combos, not too sweet so you can really enjoy that quality coffee. I'm not a climber at all, but I'll stop into Bouldering Project and sign in as a spectator just for the coffee here. Don't sleep on the baked goods, either; they're all fabulous, but the donuts are an especial favorite. Is the best coffee in Tempe in a climbing gym? Yes, absolutely it is.
