Andala Coffee House
286 Franklin St, Somerville, MA
Crema's Take
“Andala Coffee House is a welcoming Somerville spot where the vibe feels like a leisurely lunch with friends rather than a quick caffeine grab—reviewers rave about the genuinely warm service and comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Beyond solid coffee, they excel at fresh-made specialty drinks like honey chai prepared right in front of you, plus an impressive spread of light food and pastries that suggests Middle Eastern influences, making it equally appealing for conversation, solo work, or families looking for something more interesting than typical cafe fare.”

Great spot to have a great lunch and conversation. Atmosphere is nice and comfortable.
I ordered a honey chai and it was delicious. It was made fresh in front of me, which gave me time to explore the restaurant a bit. My teammate lost her earbud the day before and the employees not only recognized her, but kept it safe for her. This is a new staple the next time I race at HOCR. Have not tried the food, but everything smelled good!
The service is so welcoming, friendly, and genuine. My wife and I had a highly enjoyable, leisurely lunch here. We ordered the falafel sandwich, foole plate, a bowl of lentil soup and a fatoush salad. It was just the right amount of food for us. Our favorites were the Foole and the Fatoush salad. The lentil soup was hearty and filling. We finished our meal with a pot of House Tea (black chai w cardamom). Great meal in a down to earth cafe where everything, even the bread, is made from scratch. Can't wait to come back again for another lunch date
Service: We were in the area and Andala came recommended, so we decided to give it a try. Parking was a bit tricky, but once we got inside, we seated ourselves and were able to look over the menu right away. The staff moved around efficiently, and getting settled felt easy and relaxed. Taste: The menu had lots of delicious options, and everything we ordered hit the spot. We got the hummus with lamb along with two shawarmas, one chicken and one falafel. We also ordered the Moroccan mint tea, which tasted really good. The portions were filling, the flavors were well seasoned and fresh, and everything came together nicely. Ambiance: The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming feel. Once inside, it’s a comfortable space to enjoy a meal, and perfect for a casual bite with friends or a relaxed solo meal. Overall Review: Andala was a nice find. Even with the parking challenge, the food was flavorful, reasonably priced, and very satisfying. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu.
This place was incredible! Outrageously delicious food - we ordered the roast turkey and it was melting off the bone, and the flavors were incredible. Wonderful atmosphere with beautiful colors and artwork, and wonderful service. Will absolutely be coming back!
