Punch Love Coffee

Crema's Take
“Punch Love is an espresso-focused gem in Birmingham's Avondale neighborhood where the baristas genuinely know their craft and take pride in pulling proper flats whites and cappuccinos. Beyond the stellar espresso work, they've carved out a welcoming community space with thoughtfully made pastries and empanadas that keep regulars coming back multiple times a week. It's the kind of place where the staff's warmth and knowledge make you feel like you're part of something special, not just grabbing a quick coffee.”

Punch love is a gem of a coffee shop in Avondale area! They make a proper flat white & cappuccino :). The baristas are both super knowledgeable and friendly! Highly recommend any of the pastries or empanadas if you need a bite to eat. Adding this to my rotation of regular spots!!
Dude… This is easily in the top 5 coffee shops I’ve ever visited. Tim is a barista’s barista, pleasant to talk to, knows his craft and ready to share his excitement about coffee. The espresso was delicious, smooth, fragrant, sweet, not overly acidic or bitter. The other drinks celebrate the coffee without distracting from it, something I don’t see nearly as often as I’d like. The shop itself is a welcoming space, lots of natural light, comfortable environment. Great vibe all the way around. Prices are absolutely fair considering the quality of service and product I received. I’m absolutely coming back ASAP.
My husband liked his black coffee, but my $8.15 butterscotch latte tasted like just coffee with cream, no hint of butterscotch flavor or any sweetness. People inside were nice, but it was way too expensive for a lackluster product. My husband tried mine and didn’t even realize it was supposed to be flavored because it lacked butterscotch flavor. Stick with the straight bean juice here, don’t shell out for the speciality drinks.
Edit to add: my review is still 5 stars. This has become my 2-3x a week morning stop now. The entire staff is so kind and knowledgeable. The empanadas are phenomenal, and my favorite is now the chorizo egg and cheese(with some tapatío of course)! I really can't recommend this place enough. The atmosphere is great. I always leave with delicious coffee and delicious food! --- Previous post: I have visited this place twice now. The service is amazing! I had a vanilla and caramel latte yesterday, and vanilla and honey latte today. Both were phenomenal! I drink decaf and this is the first place I've been to in the area where the decaf doesn't taste bitter. I also tried the fig and cheese empanada, and ohhhhhhh my! Absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend Punch Love!
Adorable coffee spot! I got the "White Chocolate Punchie" which was a frozen coffee slushie. It tasted delicious and was refreshing! Also got a bacon egg and cheese empanada which was just enough to fill me up as well as super tasty. I will definitely be back!
