Crema's Take

Chaffee is a serene tea haven in Temple City where quality loose leaf teas take center stage, from their celebrated oolong selections to creative milk tea lattes that feel both comforting and thoughtfully crafted. The space invites you to linger with its beautiful, intentional design and curated details—think soft serve tea options, unique gift items, and the kind of quiet atmosphere that makes studying or meeting friends feel like a genuine retreat rather than just a caffeine stop. It's the kind of neighborhood gem that's earned its devoted following for understanding that tea culture is as much about the experience and space as it is about what's in the cup.

I highly recommend this place if you're in the 626 area and are craving some high quality tea! I got the 913 King's Oolong Milk Tea 100% sweet and it was perfect for me. I also got the Tie Guan Ying ice cream and I've never tasted this flavor of ice cream before. The tea flavor was strong but not overpowering and too sweet. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Chaffee is an interesting new-ish tea spot in the SGV with lovely iced tea lattes and tons of unique gift items, snacks, and tea pots. They offer a fun new spin on a traditional afternoon tea with an Asian-fusion influence. They keep the vibes elegant and exclusive with sleek decor and several intimate VIP rooms. On my visit I grabbed two of their iced tea lattes to go for me and hubby. I got the 913 Kings Oolong iced tea latte which was complex with a roasty flavor profile. I got it “less sweet” and it was still pretty sweet but smooth. I got the hubby an Oriental Beauty Oolong iced tea latte which was much sweeter with strong honey notes and more floral - it was very nice. The iced tea lattes are plain teas with a cream top which was a thinner cream than most other places but very nice and subtle. They also have regular style milk teas as well as a “Chaffee tea latte” that comes with espresso. The interior almost feels like browsing a museum with all the beautiful tea pots and gifts. They even had an adorable persimmon tea set that I loved haha! This would be a great place for some unique Christmas gifts. Prices for their drinks are reasonable for the area. Their afternoon tea is $65pp so a little steep - and their gifts are a tad pricey as well but seem like one of a kind gifts of good quality. According to the staff helping me (maybe the owner?) it’s still the Ten Ren company but with a rebrand to make the name “easier”. I visited about 10 mins after they opened for the day and she initially seemed a little put-out that I came in around opening time - but she warmed up a little after I offered to come back later. They seem to still be working out their new opening a bit. They’re located on the second floor with stairs on either side - I didn’t see any elevators nearby so handicap access may be an issue but it’s a large shopping complex so I’d be surprised if there wasn’t an elevator somewhere. Parking is a bit of a challenge as this is clearly a popular shopping center and the spaces are also very narrow. The signs above the door still say Ten Fu and Ten Ren with an acrylic banner saying Chaffee so the location may be a little confusing at first if you don’t know that they’re all the same company lol. All in all I really enjoyed my teas and would like to return to try their unique afternoon tea service!

🫖A Hidden Gem for Tea Lovers in SoCal 🍵 This spot is an absolute must for anyone who loves tea. They carry a fantastic selection of high-quality teas, and you can even book a reservation to enjoy a proper tea tasting experience. The staff here are genuinely friendly, welcoming, and super knowledgeable, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. I tried their soft serve ice cream, and it completely exceeded expectations. As someone who’s always loved 913 King Oolong tea, tasting it in soft serve form was a total game changer — rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. On top of that, the space is beautiful, relaxing, and parking is free, which is always a plus in SoCal. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area! Definitely will be back for more.

This tea house is such a special place. From the moment I walked in, I felt calm and welcomed. The space is beautiful, quiet, and full of little details that make you want to slow down and enjoy the moment. The staff are kind and really know their tea. They explained everything without rushing and made the experience feel personal. The teas themselves are amazing—so fresh, rich in flavor, and brewed with such care. I loved being able to try different varieties and learn about them as I sipped. It felt less like a visit to a café and more like a peaceful escape. I left relaxed, happy, and already planning my next visit. Truly a wonderful experience.
