Crema's Take
“This charming Garden Grove spot wraps you in a tropical-themed escape where carefully crafted specialty drinks shine—think perfectly balanced loose leaf teas, creative matcha creations, and coffees with real depth that balance bold espresso with thoughtful flavoring. Beyond the stellar beverages, their pastries and sweets are designed to complement rather than overwhelm, making it the kind of place where you'll actually want to linger over a slow sit and come back repeatedly just to work through their expansive menu. The attentive, kind service and family-friendly vibe make it equally perfect for a solo tea ritual or meeting up with friends, though fair warning: their artisanal approach means special requests deserve clear communication to get exactly what you're envisioning.”

I wanted to give this place 4 starts. But unfortantly my matcha was not what I asked for, I asked for a Sakura matcha with the flower topping. Instead I got one with a whip cream top. Yes I could’ve gone back and asked for a remake for the “aesthetic” but I thought I’m sure the matcha is whats important so I’m going to drink what I got so I don’t waste it. When taking a sip of my matcha I got a giant ball of matcha powder…when looking at the bottom there is a lot of matcha powder balls, giving me a bitter drink. To the baristas pls make sure you are using the appropriate amount of matcha, or be sure to whisk the matcha completely with warm water…
This place feels like paradise seriously. From the moment you walk in. Service is kind and attentive. The sweets are balanced and my tea was perfect. They have loose leaf tea and you can taste the difference. My order came out very quick. They really nailed down the atmosphere. The seating is cozy and invites you to linger and slow down and the music adds to the vibe. This place is a must try!
12/28/25-Find this very cute topical theme coffee, tea, macha, uba and cakes place. Friendly service and a huge menu select so I have ti come back to try more. Today I tried the Strawberry Coffee and an order of bread sticks. My wife got the Sea Salt Cream coffee. Both drinks were delicious and the bread sticks were the bomb. I had to try a soda drink so I got a Pinnleapple Jasmine drink to go and it was wonderful.
This was our first time at Vintage 1979, and we were a bit confused at first since we saw people already sitting down. We weren’t sure if we were supposed to wait to be seated or order at the register. I approached the lady behind the counter and explained our confusion and asked for guidance. She seemed a little confused as well, so I asked if we should just grab a menu and pick a table to order from. She nodded, so we sat down and waited about 10 minutes. Eventually we noticed new customers coming in, ordering directly at the register, and then sitting at their tables to wait for their food and drinks. So I got back up and ordered at the counter like everyone else. No big deal just a bit unclear for first-timers. We ordered the tropical smoothie ($8.50, seemed like a 20oz), the tiramisu coffee ($8.00 about 16oz), and the exotic mango cake ($8.50) for dessert. Everything was adorably presented and delicious. On the menu the tropical smoothie shows a white teddy bear on top, but ours was pink and seemed to be made from frozen strawberries or a berry mix. We didn’t mind, it was still super cute and tasty. Honestly the teddy bear topper was my favorite part and made the visit totally worth it. I probably wouldn’t get the tiramisu coffee again as it just tasted like iced coffee with chocolate powder. Next time I’d love to try their latte cappuccino or the special matcha latte. They also had adorable mini Lafufus for around $5 each. The shop is beautifully decorated, the prices are reasonable and competitive, and it’s a fun spot to catch up with friends. Definitely worth checking out.
We love coming here for drinks and desserts. The coffees are so good, they have the strong kick of coffee and the sweet creamy flavor of the flavors added. The service is friendly. The flavored sodas are delicious, I had a blue passion fruit today that was exquisite, it tasted like an intense fancy virgin cocktail, sour and sweet, excellent! We also had a coffee flight today - 4 glasses of select amazing coffee drinks that each had their own flavor and distinct taste. It was fabulous! We love this place, and look forward to trying more of their vast menu in the future. Also the ambiance here is great, it feels like being in Vietnam in a fancy coffee shop, it's decorated so cute and cozy and it makes you want to relax and talk with friends, so inviting.
