City Lights is the best of the best in Charleston- hands down. The owners have cultivated a wonderful, warm and beautiful atmosphere and community, while building creative and delicious menus every month. The team and service goes beyond - the friendliest group of folks, and it's always a pleasure to catch up with their awesome team! In addition to the delicious food/drinks and wonderful service, they've made every inch of the space truly a feast for the eyes - original art by the talented owners, local artist features and unique events that bring joy to all. City Lights is a gem in the Charleston community and we are so proud to sit and eat at their tables. If you find yourself at City Lights, congratulations - you've found a place with heart and authenticity that you'll want to visit again and again.

I’ve spent the past 4 years visiting as many local coffee shops in the Lowcountry as I can. Not even as a connoisseur of coffee, but because I treat coffee like alcohol 😂 City Lights has been on my list for a while, and after the warmth and genuinely friendly customer service from Candace + the amazing menu options, this spot moved to my #1 in the entire Charleston area. It’s actually shocking people leave 1 star reviews for being asked to purchase an item when it’s widely known you do so upon entering a space before settling in to do work, etc. These people are incredibly entitled, however, I will continue to support this establishment for the unique quality and service they’ve provided me in the handful of times I’ve visited!

City Lights is a magical place so much more than just a coffee shop. The people are kind and the atmosphere and design are incredibly thought. It definitely has the best bathrooms in the city. Also the best coffee.

I’ve visited City Lights anywhere from once to four times a week over the last two years, and this is, by far, my favorite locally-owned business that Charleston has to offer, no competition. The hospitality that the staff of City Lights enacts and embodies is unlike any other. They genuinely care for their guests, their staff, and their ethos is centered at giving back to their community. They hold weekly events with local musicians, they showcase a local artist every month in the cafe, and they are consistently working towards building new experiences to bring the community together. I love y’all big!

The best coffee shop in Charleston! The staff is phenomenal and takes time to get to know every single one of their customers. The flavor selection for lattes is always so good with rotating seasonal flavors. Such a great place to hang out or get some work done!
