Crema's Take
“Tucked into San Francisco's Japantown, this spot has mastered the art of matcha in ways that keep locals coming back despite the legendary lines—their hot matcha is exceptionally smooth and well-balanced, and adventurous flavor collaborations like yuzu and Hokkaido mixes showcase real creativity. Beyond the stellar tea program, their silky soft serve ice cream is a revelation, making this a genuinely family-friendly destination where even the pickiest eaters find something to love.”

I really enjoy their matcha and Hokkaido mix, but my all-time favorite is the yuzu flavor, it’s very refreshing. I wish they would bring it back sometime soon!
Located in SF Japan town. Extremely busy with super super long lines. The line seems never ending. We order 3 drinks and tried out their soft serve. Really delicious. The matcha was strong and sweet in anything.
Wow, and I mean wow. The matcha green tea was amazing! I had it hot, and it was one of the best I ever had. The ice cream was delightful, and my kids enjoyed it. The cold drinks look really good as well- and I was pleasantly surprised by this shop. It's a reason why it was really popular- the service was nice and fast. The barista was really friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back here if I'm in here. Try the macha, hojicha, ice cream. I want to try the matcha/ube next time. Enjoy!!
As a matcha lover,i think it's good, the only thing is the ube matcha latte was barely any ube in it. It ran out almost immediately, and the rest of the drink just tasted like plain matcha. About the tart, the original cheese tart is recommend. But I do NOT recommend the matcha tart — it was bitter in an unpleasant way. The ube tart was the complete opposite: way too sweet.
Another spot we hit up during the Cherry Blossom Festival (4/20/25). I had heard about the matcha and definitely wanted to try it. The line had been long all day but we decided to wait towards the end of the festival. I ordered the Fresh Taro Matcha Latte (no sugar) and the Hojicha Latte (less sweet). Both were tasty and the matcha was very good. There are definitely other items on this menu I want to try. The matcha affogato, all the affogatos actually, the Ube ice cream, and pistachio match latte (which was sold out). Though the line was long they did their best to keep it moving and make it efficient. The order came out quickly and I look forward to trying their matcha's again in the future.
