Crema's Take

This mom-and-pop gem across from Washington Elementary has genuinely charming vibes thanks to owner Mary, who brings heart to everything from her lavender lattes (a standout at 10/10 when hot) to freshly made avocado toast with sunny side up eggs. It's the kind of cozy, aesthetic spot where you can linger solo with your laptop or gather the whole family for brunch—think Tuscan turkey sandwiches and Nova lox bagels that justify the hype. The whole operation feels like it's run by someone who actually cares, making Mary Lane a reliable anchor for the San Gabriel community looking for genuine hospitality alongside solid traditional coffee drinks and breakfast fare.

I love this sweet little cafe! This is excellent for a morning when you just want a cozy place to relax on your own or with friends. The food and drinks are great (I have tried the avocado toast, breakfast bowl, some sandwiches and lattes) and they have vegan, gluten free, dairy free options. It isn’t a fast paced place. Food and drinks can take some time to get out to you since the staff is small. I personally do not mind though, because the charm and vibes make the wait worth while.

This is a cute little mom and pop shop across from Washington Elementary school in San Gabriel. They have delicious avocado toast with sunny side up eggs. Everything was freshly made and delicious. I was happy with the taste of my lavender latté, better than some other places. I highly recommend this place. Sit on the swing while waiting for your food. It takes a bit as it does get busy. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for delicious fresh foods, great service and cute old fashion atmosphere.

The whole family met here for brunch. The Tuscan turkey sandwich, BBQ chicken sandwich, Nova lox bagel, vanilla latte, and coffee were all delicious and made more than one meal. The interior was decorated with items my mom's house also had growing up. Will return again.

Just as adorable and aesthetic as I thought! Mary, the owner, is so genuine, laid-back and fun to talk to! She puts her heart into the business and it definitely shows in both the quality of the food and service! I recommend the BBQ chicken sandwich 😊 Great spot to sit outside (on cute swinging chairs) or inside for a quieter, more intimate-feel. If you’re in town, you must try this spot!!

Lavender latte: hot: it was 10/10. You can definitely taste the coffee and lavender. I’d highly recommend Caramel latte: 6/10 cold is better. Not as much coffee as you’d expect. Hot is on the sweeter side. If you like caramel, it’s for you! Avocado toast: I think they used less than half an avocado? It was a super thin layered avocado which I was disappointed since the price was a bit high for what I got. French toast: expect eggy toast. No cinnamon in it at all. No flavor. They will give you syrup though! Breakfast bowl: it was okay, and I think portion was good too. Interior: very cute! They have seating inside! They don’t have AC inside I think. It’s pretty warm. Parking: you can park on the street and their parking lot. We came on a Wednesday brunch. I’m assuming weekends are packed.
