Crema's Take

This Honolulu spot brings a laid-back island confidence to their espresso bar, where thoughtful touches like coffee ice cubes in cold brew keep your drink from getting watered down—a detail that shows they actually care about the experience. The vibe hits that sweet spot between cozy neighborhood hangout and polished local roastery, with friendly staff who make you feel welcome while you settle in with their rotating selection of Hawaiian beans and creative specialty drinks.

Staff was super friendly. Ordered a large cold brew with Mac nut syrup. Not entirely sure the syrup was added so added some sugar to it, but love the coffee ice cubes. Sandwich was OK, but for seven dollars it left a bit to be imagined.

Love the location, the parking, the local beans, and the cozy coffee shop feel, albeit a little corporate. I'm always looking for new coffee shops in my area and I'd try Bad Ass coffee again but the coffee quality needs some improvement first. Also, I attempted to order a tea latte and my friend a flat white, both of which confused the barista. Would also love to see a for-here option to reduce plastic waste. Small adjustments and training would go far!

I visited the original Bad Ass Coffee on Maui over a decade ago. The coffee tastes just a great and I love that they elevate their iced coffee with coffee ice cubes. No more watered-down coffee!
