“Bru Avl is a warm gathering spot in downtown Asheville where attentive staff like Adam Authier make you feel genuinely welcomed from the moment you walk in. Beyond solid specialty coffee drinks and creative signature options, what really sets this place apart is the full, carefully executed menu—think fabulous huevos rancheros and smash burgers—paired with an inviting atmosphere that makes locals and travelers alike want to linger over breakfast rather than rush through it. It's the kind of neighborhood spot where the owners chat with guests, the light is golden, and everything from the coffee to the service feels thoughtfully done.”

Adam Authier was amazing, from the moment we came in he was attentive and unimposing. He made us feel welcomed. We ordered and the food was divine, the atmosphere inviting and the owner well mannared. We were grateful we found this restaurant because we were celebrating our daughter's birthday. The chef did a great job. I loved my salmon, very artistic plate, deliciously arranged and cooked to perfection. We would come back next time we visit Ashville NC. Great place!
Breakfast here was great. Coffee was good as well. Huevos Rancheros were fabulous. Just a short walk from many downtown hotels. They have a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus with several desserts. Tons of hot and cold coffee choices.
We stumbled into Bru on a golden morning, the kind that makes coffee steam look poetic. It’s the kind of place where locals linger over breakfast — not because they’re in a hurry, but because the light is too good to leave. I ordered the Sammy, and let me tell you, it was out of this world. The kind of sandwich that doesn’t just fill you up, it makes you rethink what breakfast can be. Linda tried the avocado toast with chili crunch — a clever twist on a classic, with just enough kick to wake up the senses. The whole vibe was effortless: sunlight pouring through the windows, conversations humming, espresso machines singing their morning song. It’s easy to see why Bru isn’t just a stop — it’s a start to the day. ☕ Verdict: Great food, great light, great locals. What more could you want?
So so good! Lots of really interesting signature coffee options, great food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. We were staying at a hotel nearby - so happy we picked this place for breakfast.
The food was delicious. Owner's are nice and cordial. Talked with them a bit. Ordering was a breeze. The food arrived quickly too. I had a smash burger and iced hazelnut cortado coffee and my wife had the kale salad with salmon with a cinnamon con panna coffee. Took home the mascot Brüster. Ill put him on the Christmas this year. Great little place to eat.
