Crema's Take
“Büna Coffeehouse is a beloved neighborhood gathering spot that celebrates DC's Ethiopian heritage through both its coffee and its thoughtfully crafted cuisine, from perfectly cooked eggs to savory tibs and creative drinks like mango matcha lemonade. The warm, cozy atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff make it feel like a welcoming living room where you can linger over breakfast, meet friends, or discover something new on their menu of specialty drinks and light fare. It's the kind of place where every detail—from the quality of the coffee to the generous portions—shows the care of a family business deeply rooted in its community.”

Very cute shop! Friendly service and many options. I got the mango matcha lemonade & steak sandwich. Both were delicious and portioned well. A little pricey but worth it when supporting family businesses!
I love Büna. Everything is great⭐️It’s a super cute cafe and it has a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and quick with orders. They have a variety of good breakfast and lunches and I also love their matcha, whether hot or cold, it is by far the best matcha I’ve ever had🍵Definitely recommend going there!!
Just left and had the best brunch. I got the brunch platter and I loved every bite of it. I also snagged a bite of my fiancé’d tibs and that was so delicious as well! Definitely will be coming back. They have a nice patio area so you can enjoy the weather and have wonderful food. I also will say, I am not a big coffee person but I enjoyed sipping on my fiancé’s iced mocha.
Such a cute and wholesome neighborhood cafe that has some delicious food. The eggs were actually phenomenal and I am truly a sucker for good ethiopian breakfast foods. Coffee waw also pretty solid and the service was great. The folks that work there are very sweet. Perfect spot to catch up or grab a bite!
A big part of D.C. is the Ethiopian community and Buna Coffeehouse is one of several Ethiopian cafes in the city. This one is beloved by the neighborhood. Service is always on point and the space inviting. I enjoyed my iced latte. It's most strong and darker than I'm used to, but I really enjoyed it with a splash of simple syrup from the condiment bar. To eat, they sell bagels, sandwiches, and more. Popping in for breakfast, I ordered a chocolate chip muffin. It comes full of little chocolate chips, but it was very dry. I recommend asking it to be warmed up beforehand.
