Crema's Take

Tucked into a corner spot that's easy to miss, this intimate hole-in-the-wall brings authentic Vietnamese flavors and warmth to San Jose, with standout bun cha that keeps regulars coming back multiple times a week. The tiny, inviting space feels genuinely transported from Vietnam itself—from the friendly, attentive service to the storefront charm—making it perfect for both quick coffee grabs and leisurely meetings over their reasonably priced traditional drinks and matcha tea. It's the kind of unpretentious gem where the food, service, and atmosphere all work together to remind you why a neighborhood spot doesn't need to be fancy to be exceptional.

Heard about this place from a friend of a friend and this didn’t disappoint. Been here twice in a week and go with the bun cha, always a hit. This is in a corner spot and you may pass it by all the time so you don’t notice it. It’s located in a plaza with maybe 5 stores. I tried the egg coffee and be warned the coffee here is strong, I felt it for hours so if you’re looking for a boost of energy get the coffee. The gentleman there offered us ginger tea which was perfect for a cold day. The decor is cute and warm. Don’t sleep on this place.

I really liked this place! After visiting Vietnam I was looking for bun cha spot in SJ. This place reminds me of Vietnam, from the food, service, and storefront. The workers are friendly and attentive. I got bun cha da nang and it was very comforting on a cold day.

One of the best hole in the wall places in San Jose. It’s very tiny, but clean and inviting. The prices for all the coffees, matcha drinks and dishes are very reasonable. Main dishes about $16 each and coffee and Matcha drinks are about $6.50 each. If you plan to dine in, the place sits around six people to eight people the most. Excellent service as well! The ladies who are either owners or workers there are courteous, friendly & respectful especially the young lady. I come back quite often!

Small hole-in-the-wall family restaurant that serves good Vietnamese food. I was really happy with my special savory sticky rice (xôi đặc biệt) order. It differs from the normal savory sticky rice (xôi mặn) in that they give you a piece of fried chicken. The seasonings of the pate and braised pork were on point. The fried chicken was crispy, well-seasoned, and not dried. The pork floss was a bit salty and not sweet enough, but that's just my personal preference. Overall, this is a dish I would return here for. We also ordered the flagship Da Nang fish cake vermicelli (bún chả cá Đà Nẵng), which was pretty ok. The broth was sweet, salty, and not too heavy. There are plenty of fish cakes, both steamed and fried ones. The fermented shrimp paste (mắm ruốc) add-on was pretty authentic according to my Da Nang native girlfriend. This is also a good dish imo. One last note is that at this current state, this is more of a to-go restaurant than a dine-in one since they only have 2 small tables. We came here for lunch and the tables were empty, but this is something to consider if you're looking for a place to sit. All in all, good restaurant, I recommend trying at least once.
