Café de Leche
5000 York Blvd, Los Angeles, CA
Crema's Take
“Café de Leche strikes that sweet spot between a serious coffee destination and a relaxed neighborhood hangout, where knowledgeable baristas craft distinctive drinks like the Latte Campesino and warming Mexican mocha with a playful approach to flavor combinations. The bright, airy space with generous seating and natural light makes it equally suited for settling in with a book or meeting a friend, though fair warning if you're planning to work—there's no wifi to anchor you there all afternoon. Their creativity shines in signature drinks that balance traditional espresso craftsmanship with unexpected touches like star anise and orange peel, though their strawberry matcha is still a work in progress.”

Strawberry matcha could have way more strawberry in it.. always on a hunt trying strawberry matcha from different spots. 7/10
The cafe is quaint and upbeat. No wifi is a big let down. Drinks wise-- The first time I went I had the strwb matcha which wasn't great, it tasted like strawberry milk and the matcha flavor is distant. Still had hope for the coffee and came back and ordered a latte. The coffee flavor is just okay. Another side note, I have been drinking oat milk for 3 years now and something about the one they use adds a very off-putting taste that overpowers the drink. Service was fine, the guy who works the front either looks upset or sad every time I'm here.
Small, local coffee shop with good quality coffee, calm and slightly upbeat vibe. Nice place to relax, read, work. I don’t remember the name of my latte but it has star anise and orange peel. I opted for oat milk. They have almond milk too. It was delicious! The atmosphere is fine, just a bit crowded and messy towards the back with coffee beans and an actual in-house roaster. So, while a bit messy, it’s also unique and cool to see.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff/baristas. I had the mexi mocha w/spices but I recommend having it without. Latte Campesino was best served hot, personally. All around great and I recommend 👍
If you’re looking for a chill spot to get your caffeine fix, this place is it. Tons of seating and loads of natural light make it perfect for getting some work done or just hanging out. The coffee is seriously good, and their huge butter croissants are out of this world. Plus, the staff is super friendly, which is always a win. Definitely worth checking out!
