Crema's Take

Village Bean has been a beloved Exeter institution for years, drawing regulars back for consistently fresh coffee and the kind of warm, personal service that comes from baristas who genuinely care—like Emma, who's known for pouring heart into every vanilla bean latte. Beyond the coffee, their cozy atmosphere and solid breakfast menu of sandwiches and light fare make it the perfect spot to settle in for a slow morning, whether you're a longtime devotee or just passing through town.

I grew up in Windham and this has been a staple as long as I've known. I was in the area and decided to stop in and grab a coffee. The coffee was very fresh and flavor just as i remembered. The prices were fair and the staff was very friendly. Bonus: they also sell chubbies( egg and chorizo stuffed bagel) which i only ever found at another coffee shop in concord and they're delicious. Highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the area.

There’s no better way to start the day than having a delicious vanilla bean latte made with love by none other than Emma! She said she is confident she makes a mean latte, after my first sip I learned she not only makes a great latte but does not lie. She then told me their breakfast chubbies we’re delicious. The lie detector determined that was also not a lie. The food - delicious, the latte - fantastic, EMMA? The Village Bean Queen. Thanks Emma!

We stopped by here for lunch, and surprised at how yummy they are! We ordered the avocado but and egg muffin sausage egg sandwiches, and they're really good. We love the comfy vibe and how they also sell desserts, ice creams, souvenirs and holiday gifts. We had a nice time here.

The atmosphere is cozy. The staff is always friendly, unlike the owner who should be a bit more friendly and smile when customers come in. If you don’t want to lose customers; I’d think twice about the .75 for less ice. I got an X-large ice coffee with 3/4 cup full of ice. When she rang me up I saw the additional charge $.75 for less ice? I was shocked, and it wasn’t her fault, aside from the fact she mentioned she was new, which seems to be happening a lot there. It’s a quarter of a cup less not the other way around. I was already paying $5.00 for it. I realize prices have gone up, but I have been to other local small businesses and they don’t charge for less ice unless it’s no ice at all OR less than half! The other issue pastry isn’t always fresh. If you’re going to sell something, make sure it’s fresh-not try to pass It off stale and hard!

Village Bean is an excellent little coffee shop in Village Green of Windham on Route 111. The breakfast menu is quite limited but the breakfast sandwiches are most certainly better than those served on the other side of the Interstate next door to the Mobil station. When it comes to your “bean” you have many choices with plenty of made-to-go coffee types available as well as actual beans to take home and prepare yourself. The desert case is scrumptious and decadent. The muffins are fresh and delicious. Unique local handy work is fun to peruse while you are waiting for your order. Seating inside is very nice with a bar at the window, small tables, and relaxing, cushioned couches and chairs too. There is even outside seating available. Very much recommended. Update: They now serve delicious gelato!
