Jazzman's Cafe And Bakery
111 S Front St, Harrisburg, PA
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside Harrisburg Hospital, this cafe punches above its usual hospital cafeteria weight with a genuine commitment to quality pastries and coffee that keeps regulars coming back. The on-site grill means you can pair your espresso with fresh-cooked breakfast items, and the relaxed vibe makes it a legitimate destination for lingering conversations rather than just a quick caffeine grab. Just note that weekend hours can be unpredictable, so call ahead if you're planning a weekend visit.”

I rarely write reviews but I had to for this place. Jazzman's Cafe and Bakery is inside a hospital which serves breakfast and pastries. They have a grill to cook eggs, bacon and sausage. They have a toaster. They offer a few breakfast sandwiches but not the ubiquitous bacon, egg and cheese on white toast. They have the fixings to make the sandwich in clear view behind the counter at the grill. I was informed by the staff they were unable to make the sandwich because it wasn't on the menu, no exceptions. They had sausage, egg and cheese but the swine was not allowed. Bacon was allowed on the breakfast platter but not on the sandwich with toast. White toast was only allowed to be served with the breakfast platter. I asked to speak with the manager and he confirmed this injustice. This decision was made by whomever runs the show behind the scenes. Whomever this person is, they are wrong and should not hold such a position of power to decide weather or not someone can order bacon, egg and cheese on white toast. This person, has deprived the good people of Harrisburg, PA. of one of the finest, most simple sandwiches ever created. Shame be upon you and your decision making. The staff were "just doing their jobs" and doing them well. My complaint is with whomever runs the Jazzman's Cafe and Bakery, The person with the policy of not straying from the menu, with no exceptions. Not even for a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich at a breakfast cafe with all the ingredients sitting right there. One last thing, this place has nothing to do with jazz, music, art or culture.
Not bad at a coffee shop in a hospital
Despite the fact that the pastries are good and the coffee is good, they are NOT reliably open on weekends despite advertising that they are. This is extremely frustrating for those of us who work on the weekends here. Speaks of poor management
Very nice hospital cafe and coffee shop bakery. Lots of goodies to munch on while awaiting people or procedures at the hospital. Recommended.
