Case Study Coffee

Crema's Take
“Case Study Coffee is a Portland institution that's been drawing people back for over a decade with its expertly pulled espresso and thoughtfully crafted pour overs, served in a spacious, naturally welcoming space that manages to feel both modern and genuinely cozy. The baristas here have a real warmth about them, and whether you're settling in for hours of work or a leisurely coffee break, the atmosphere—complete with considerate touches like outlet access and window seats—makes it easy to linger. It's the kind of place that earns its reputation not through hype, but through consistent, quality coffee and a vibe that feels authentically Portland.”

This is my all time classic Portland coffee shop. First time I was here was in 2013 to study when I was in school. Coffee is great and good variety of baked goods.
Loved the vibe here! The coffee was rich and smooth, and the baristas were friendly and welcoming. The space feels cozy yet modern, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done.
The coffee shop is big inside with some counter seats and tables by the window and wall. I feel they didn't put enough seats in the shop for large groups because most of the tables are only available up to four people. Reasonable price and helpful staff. They had some trouble printing out my receipts, though. Machine problem, I guess. The location is close to the train to the airport. I'll be happy to come here again before I go back home. Some homeless people are camping outside by the windows. I would not use the window seats because of this, and I wouldn't go there late at night.
Great place to chill, relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. I loved the atmosphere and the background music. Service was good and people polite. The espresso was high quality and I could have drunk 3 of them. I was able to get some work done and also to relax. Really recommended.
I've wanted to visit this coffee shop for a long time and I finally made it happen yesterday. The atmosphere was good. There were a lot of outlets and I also noticed there were purse hangers under the bar counter. Clearly, they care about their customers. I ordered cappuccino($4.75). The barista poured it very beautiful. It tasted great as well. The way they blend their coffee beans and how they brew must be just right. I found it a bit pricey for the amount you get, still I enjoyed my cappuccino. I didn't spot any flies so I was able to take my time to finish it.
