Concorde Espresso Bar
215 S Front St, Wilmington, NC
Crema's Take
“Concorde Espresso Bar transforms seamlessly from a serious coffee destination by day to an imaginative cocktail bar by evening, with an atmosphere warmed by fire pits and thoughtfully curated decor that keeps regulars coming back. The team here excels at both craft—whether that's a perfectly pulled espresso or a creatively mixed drink—and hospitality, making it equally suited for solo coffee contemplation or celebrating milestones with a large group. With table-order QR codes, excellent pastries, and a genuinely welcoming vibe, this spot feels less like a typical café and more like a gathering place where the coffee and drinks happen to be exceptional.”

I went with a large party for two birthdays and it was very nice! The outdoor area was lovely and the staff was super friendly! The mai tai was pretty good mixture and the rave was the cookie butter gelato. The outdoor section has a fireplace to keep you warm throughout the night and we also were offered blankets. The overall experience was great and would recommend for a date or a group gathering.
If you’re looking for a cozy café with great drinks and unique desserts, Concorde Espresso Cafe is definitely a spot worth visiting. The vibe inside is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax with friends, enjoy dessert, or stop by for a late-night coffee. One of the highlights was the blueberry margarita, which was refreshing and perfectly balanced. For dessert lovers, this place is a dream. We tried the tiramisu, which was rich and creamy with that classic espresso flavor, and the affogato, a must-order if you love coffee and gelato together. Their gelato selection was also amazing. The Reese’s latte gelato and the cookie butter gelato were both incredibly flavorful and smooth. Another really fun experience was the s’mores kit, where you can safely toast your own marshmallows right at the table such a cool and cozy touch that makes the visit memorable. Overall, Concorde Espresso Cafe is a great place if you’re searching for dessert cafés, gelato, tiramisu, affogato, or specialty coffee drinks in the area. The atmosphere, drinks, and desserts make it a perfect stop for a casual date night, dessert after dinner, or simply a relaxing coffee break. Highly recommend checking it out!
This is a nice and relaxing place to stop for some cozy coffee. The fire pits are on outside and lots of sitting is available. You can sit and order from the QR code to your table! Coffee was good, the matcha was okay it felt a bit gritty.
Amazing coffee and pastries by morning and an extravagant and fun cocktail experience through the evening. Right now, the space is in high Christmas decor, so you definitely want to check it out. Plop down by a fire pit, enjoy the lively scene, and sip a tasty beverage. Great for a romantic date or with friends or colleagues. The evening bar runs from the backyard of the Front Street Inn, and it’s largely an outdoor experience. It can get very busy on a Saturday night, so be prepared for a possible line.
Unfortunately I was quite displeased with my visit to Concorde. I had a reservation and upon arrival was guided through a nearly empty restaurant to a shoot off room in the back corner. We were made aware that we were getting a private room, and asked if we could just sit in the main area. We were told no, due to other reservations. As we were guided into the room the hostess told us to come on in, but the previous party was still making their way out and the room hadn’t yet been reset. Once we were in the “private dining area”, which was actually a storage room and employee bathroom with one single table (no music, no ambiance, pictures attached), we ordered from a QR code and the room was eerily quiet. When the server dropped off our drinks she stated “oh my, it looks bad in here” and tried to fix the lighting and told us we could connect to a Bluetooth speaker, she was kind and tried to find us another seat but we already had our drinks and smores kit with the fire lit, so we decided that we’d just finish up and go since it was an odd experience already. Servers were in and out slamming a loud cupboard, moving chairs in and out of the room, using the restroom that was directly next to us (could hear the toilet flush as we were roasting our marshmallows), etc… Eventually, what I assume to be the manager came in and told us that a wedding party would be coming in to the room to take a photograph, implying that we would be needing to move…after this we decided to just leave without finishing our drinks and smores. The manager caught us leaving and questioned why we would leave without finishing. I told her it was just our time to go, she continued to pester and I politely said that it was a very odd experience and not what we were expecting in the slightest. She said a mere “sorry” and then we were gone. If they try to seat you in what the referred to as the “Monet room”…RUN. Perhaps this could be a better setting for a larger group, but for me and my one friend, this was weird.
