Crema's Take
“Luckycat is a beautifully designed Asian-inspired café in Lakeview that elevates the coffee experience with unexpected flavor combinations like Black Sesame Latte and Miso Maple Latte—each one balanced and sophisticated rather than gimmicky. Beyond the exceptional specialty drinks, they nail the fundamentals with rich, smooth coffee and excellent pastries, all served in a snug, modern space that feels instantly welcoming for both quick visits and lingering afternoons. Whether you're drawn to their signature creative drinks or their carefully prepared matcha, this is the kind of thoughtful neighborhood spot that keeps people coming back.”

I was so excited to try this cafe. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and one of their seasonal drinks, Mala Mocha. The sandwich was delicious with a hint of sweetness and heat from the hot honey chili crisps. I felt like the Mala Mocha could have had more Sichuan spices, however I liked that it wasn’t overly sweet.
A snug & modern Asian-inspired café in Lakeview. The specialty lattes were the highlight - the Black Sesame Latte was nutty and smooth without being overly sweet, while the Miso Maple Latte had a subtle miso note with more sweetness. It was nice to see single-origin beans available as well. For pastries, we tried the Basque cheesecake with black sesame syrup, which was super rich and yum. A great spot for unique lattes and hangouts, just be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak hours as tables tend to get filled up.
Loved this coffee shop! The space is modern, beautifully designed, and instantly welcoming. I ordered a coffee and a croissant — both were excellent. The coffee was rich and smooth, and the croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery. The staff was very friendly and made the experience even better. Such a great addition to the neighborhood — I’m excited to come back again soon.
Just found my new favorite hangout spot in Chicago! We ordered the sesame latte and cortado for drink. Love the sesame + coffee combo is so unique and honestly unlike anything I’ve try at other coffee store in the city. Also highly recommend their house-made cheesecake. Not overly sweet, perfectly creamy with great serving volume. There are seatings and WiFi available at the store making it great place to chatting with friends and lock in for work. Definitely planning comes by more often!
The matcha had a nice vibrant green color which is always a good sign. The matcha is mellow not overpowering not too little, just right! Their sesame chia pudding was also good. Love the coconut chips in there, added texture to the dessert. Overall worth the trip. Last Photo: my windshield is tinted so made the matcha color look dull, it actually looks vibrant green
