Crema's Take

Tadaima brings authentic Japanese café culture to the Inner Sunset with a serious matcha program—think rich, creamy preparations elevated with creative twists like strawberry and pistachio—paired with an impressive selection of onigiri and Japanese sandwiches that keep the neighborhood buzzing. The spacious, welcoming interior has become a genuine gathering spot where the quality of both drinks and food justify the visit, even if your wallet might feel it a bit. Whether you're settling in with your laptop or meeting a friend, the genuine care in every pour and plate makes this feel less like a hyped opening and more like a neighborhood staple that actually deserves the line.

The hype is real at Tadaima! 🍙🍵 Went by on opening weekend and the line was crazy long down the blocks but returned few days later mid-week and lines were only 5 deep. This is basically a Japanese snack lover’s dream — onigiri, savory and sweet sandos, and matcha drinks with all the fun toppings. There is only 1 cashier but the line moves pretty fast since the onigiri are ready to grab — just pick up a basket and choose your favorites. Sandos and drinks are made to order so there’s a short wait, but worth it. Everything tasted super fresh and the onigiri rice was still warm. Lots of varieties and generous portions. Savory and Sweet Sandos - $14 - $18 Onigri and Musbi- $3.50 - $8.50 Drinks - $4-$7.75 They have a cute bag available for purchase. Just note: seating is very limited (about 6 small tables), so most people grab and go. This is a great place to grab a quick meal if you are going Golden Gate Park. Bay Area foodies — the hype checks out and I’ll be back. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly onigiri or bento fix, Sakura Japanese Grocery at 936 Irving is a solid nearby option.

Genuinely good food/drink. Primary downside here would be the cost (35$ after tip for matcha latte, sando and a spam musibi) but if you're not cost sensitive definitely visit. Plus, if you are you could just choose some of the less expensive options (onigiri/drinks). Good work yall! I think the mango sando would have been better served with a cut of mango that didn't slide against each other but they are whole slices of ripe mango and quite tasty. The cream in the sando is very rich and not too sweet. The matcha latte with pistachio cream was delicious and had the cream well integrated. Heavy on the ice for my tastes but the drink itself was great. Spam and egg misubi was nice. You could tell the quality of all the ingredients (and not too greasy). I wanted the takana but they were out. Points docked on atmosphere for a problem with the interior seating lighting flickering continuously but I'm sure they'll fix that.

This place is popping and for good reason— It was highly recommended by a friend and the flavor of the matcha is rich and authentic tweaked with a little something something like strawberry or pistachio cream. Food lives up to the hype as well. Yall should just brave the line and come over!

Came for the soft opening and the line went by fairly quickly. The strawberry matcha is super creamy and flavorful! Also enjoyed the katsu pineapple sandwich. We def needed a matcha place in this neighborhood and I’m excited to come back again!

Welcome to the neighborhood! so glad you’re here. spacious inside, with decent seating. Huge selection of onigiri loved the platter to pick out your selection. And of course you have the delicious drinks! ps. can you have a stamp card?
