Crema's Take

Times Coffee Shop is a genuine slice of local Kona life, where you'll find authentic Hawaiian plate lunch classics like loco moco with your choice of hamburger or roast pork, generous waffles, and fried rice served in a unpretentious diner setting that's refreshingly free from the polished brunch spots sprouting up around Kailua. The kitchen delivers hearty portions and quick service, making it equally perfect for a grab-and-go coffee or a leisurely breakfast where you'll rub shoulders with regulars who clearly know this is the real deal.

Diner vibe. Great alternative to upscale breakfast spots popping up in Kailua. Corned beef, waffles, fried rice, loco moco with hamburger or roast pork & gravy choice options. Quick service. Good for families ABC catching up. Enjoy!

The food was ok. My white rice was a little dry and hard. We both felt uncomfortable and unwelcome dining there as we kept getting unkind stares. Our waitress was very nice but when we went to check out with another waitress she was pretty rude and unwelcoming.

This is my favorite place to dine, breakfast, brunch, and lunch. It is very local style, good service, and their food is ONO! Today I ordered cheese burger deluxe! Burger is juicy, buns are soft and toasted with butter, and they grilled onion!! I normally eat without onion, but here it is a very important item. It is very reasonable price with this volume, $15.50! This place is a gem in Kailua.

Parking signs were a bit confusing basically they told us we can park wherever even though there signs outside that say you can't. But the food was good portions were huge especially the full order of rice enough for two. The rice was a bit more sweet than I'd like but still good

If you are looking for a casual place that serves great local specialties and where the locals gather, Times Coffee Shop is the place to go. Very friendly and welcoming staff make visitors feel part of the community. A note, my personal breakfast favorite, fried rice and eggs that comes with heavenly Hawaiian macaroni and potato salad can easily feed at least two people with the full order. The buttermilk pancakes are light and fluffy goodness.
