Crema's Take
“Hot Spot Coffee Shop transforms a historic building in Charleston into a buzzing community hub where creative signature drinks like the WV Salt and Maple and Sakura latte showcase the care that goes into every cup. Their espresso pulls are noticeably clean and quality-forward, which shines through in their lattes—reviewers rave about the pumpkin spice that tastes like fresh-baked pie rather than artificial syrup. Whether you're catching a quiet morning or joining the energetic daytime crowd, the genuinely friendly baristas and inviting atmosphere make this the kind of place that leaves visitors dreaming about returning long after they leave.”

Great lattes, amazing service, very cute/busy atmosphere! We went in the morning before the market its inside was open. It was super quiet, but during the day it’s much busier. The staff are super kind; they greet and goodbye everyone. The espresso is light (not super strong) but the flavors are good and they have super interesting seasonal drinks. It’s not a quiet place and there aren’t many spots to sit, but it’s so cute to walk around. The food/bakery items are boring imo; they taste good but the options are just regular.
I got the pumpkin spice latte and it was absolutely fantastic. Very flavorful, like a fresh baked pie. Not overly sweet or artificial. I will be dreaming of this coffee long after I’ve traveled back home. Will absolutely be coming back again while I’m in town.
Loved my iced Turkish latte. The barista was so friendly and the space was a lot of fun we visited from Utah on a coffee quest! I was surprised my drinks made my too 3 list. I hope they expand west!
Surprisingly good coffee in the midst of a mini mall in a renovated historic building. We had a latte, and you could tell the espresso used is high quality (and not the burnt flavor of some mainstream coffee vendors). Great option if you live in/near Charleston or just traveling through
I tried the specialty drink with maple syrup the WV salt and maple and it was kind of bland. Keeping it at 4 stars though because my wife got the iced Sakura latte and it was delicious! Will give it a second try when we are driving up north again, quick stop off the highway and very cool market
