Common Bond Bistro & Bakery - Heights
449 W 19th St, Houston, TX
Crema's Take
“Common Bond Bistro & Bakery in the Heights strikes that perfect balance between a serious coffee destination and a neighborhood gathering spot where baristas like Aniya genuinely make you feel welcomed. The sprawling seating—both inside and out—combined with thoughtfully crafted coffees and an impressive bakery case makes it equally suited for a focused work session or a leisurely weekend brunch with friends. Their matcha and pastries are just as noteworthy as their espresso drinks, creating one of those rare cafés where every part of the menu feels intentional rather than an afterthought.”

I ordered the breakfast tacos with Aniya—she was absolutely sweet and very thorough when ordering. Something I always appreciate is when the order is repeated back and she did so with a great attitude. The atmosphere was light for a Friday morning, which was very appreciative for me. Food was delicious and the green sauce is to die for. I’d come again and bring more friends next time!
Service is exceptional. The strawberry cheesecake: there's too much filling for the amount of crust on it. It needs to have a thicker crust or less filling. It's a beautiful presentation. The blackened shrimp salad was bland. I would definitely ask for dressing because whatever they have on it doesn't have any type of flavor. The shrimp was a bit overcooked. Because bakery options but I wouldn't return
This is such a great café that we ended up coming across and we will definitely be coming back here again. We love their coffees and their Matcha tea as well as all of the bakery goods. They’re not only look great, but they taste equally amazing. This coffee shop has a very chilled out laid-back vibe and we really enjoyed our little afternoon snack and will definitely be back here again soon.
I decided to move my home office to a LESS remote location this afternoon and try a different (and local) coffee shop. It was a great atmosphere with just enough background noise and music not to get bored. My latte was also tasty and although I didn’t order food, everyone else’s food orders looked tasty…I’ll have to return for brunch and mimosas!!! Lots of great patio seats on cooler days and a colorful and fun palette.
It's a chill place on Saturday morning. You can have brunch with coffee and enjoy your life. There were a lot of tables in the store and also a lot of outside tables. But you know, the summer is coming in Houston, is so damn hot outside. I would definitely prefer to have my food inside the store.
