Millhouse Station

11 Smith Bridges St, Jefferson, GA

Crema's Take

Millhouse Station in Jefferson captures that inviting, crisp atmosphere that makes it worth a stop whether you're traveling through or settling in with family, though its execution in the kitchen seems inconsistent. Their burgers are a point of pride when done right, and they offer both traditional and creative specialty drinks alongside a full breakfast menu that gives you reasons to linger. The space itself feels beautiful and well-intentioned, though some visitors wish the service matched the promise of what they see on the menu.

Came here to try something new with my family! I wanted to really like it too. Food wasn’t great. I got the pimento cheese bacon burger. The pimento cheese was good but the burger was overcooked and dry. My husband got the ribeye, which was very misleading from the picture. The manager explained that it was cooked on a flat cook top, and not a fire grill. It just wasn’t seared and very bland. Plus our bar drinks weren’t great either. Service was good though. Our server was doing her job the best she could do. However, they had ran out of silverware and it took her a few times to make her way back to our table with silverware and napkins. Overall we more than likely won’t be back for dinner, fingers crossed for a breakfast outing there!

Nice place to stop for lunch while traveling. Atmosphere was crisp clean and inviting. Service was excellent. Food was tasty and filling -we ordered burgers, onion rings and a side salad. The burgers and rings were the best part.

Unfortunately, I have to update my 5star review. The photo's are what we were SUPPOSED to receive and what we ACTUALLY received. We went and ordered take out today for dinner. It was not very good. French fries are NOT house cut like they once were. The fish n chips were something I could buy in the frozen section at Walmart. It looks like a child's meal. Like frozen fish sticks and freezer burnt fries. It didn't come with as much fish as it states. From my understanding they have different owners now and it shows it the food. We will not go back again. Last week my family and I put in a to-go order. When we went to go pick it up the fryer that they use for the fish was down. We ordered two fish and chip plates. We ordered a different Meal which was no problem. They gave us free drinks and a free dessert. They were all very helpful. The food was amazing. And it is beautiful in there!

Looking for a place to eat Sat night, and decided to go to the Millhouse. Checked the hours on Google and it said open until 9pm. Also noted, the time was updated by the business 8 weeks ago. We've been here for breakfast and lunch when they first opened and was very good and now they are open for dinner and give try. What happened? It’s like night and day. Arrived, 6:50 pm and a sign to, seat yourself. Grabbed a table, and we were not acknowledged until another 10-15min, the place was not crowded, at all. Also noted, a dirty table next to us left uncleaned during the duration of our visit. Boxes stacked behind seats to the front of the establishment, TV boxes? Very unsightly. What appeared to be a waitress (who moved very goofy across the restaurant) makes her way over, and just looks at me after trying to communicate with her. She doesn’t speak English. 🤨I couldn't communicate with her to order a drink, she brought over a menu and I had to point it out so she could write it down to show another girl. Mind you, I frequent many Mexican restaurants, El Salvadorian, Dominican and people speak English, so much so, they can take an order. This is an American food restaurant. We than have another [English speaking] waitress, very nice and we order our food. Just note, their "Dinner" menu is not dinner (steaks, fish, chicken dinners etc.), it's basically their lunch menu rehashed as dinner (i.e. hamburgers, sandwiches, salads). Waitress comes out and lets us know almost 7:30 pm the kitchen will be closing. I mentioned the hours on Google said 9pm, she shrugged it off, they weren't open until 9. I said, they should update it, misleading. We get our appetizer, cheese fries were ghetto but edible. Our food was brought by a different waitress, son had a hamburger which was good, my sandwich was okay wasn’t even cut in half which I thought it would be because we were given no utensils. My son asks for ketchup for his burger, and the waitress walks off and just starts cleaning tables. 🤔 Will I go back for lunch? Maybe. Dinner? I will not return. There are other places with good service and food I'm willing to drive for. Maybe I'll check back in 6 months for anything redeeming. I gave the service 3 stars for the second waitress we had, I took two 2 off (from 5) due to sitting for almost 15 min and for a waitress which could not communicate with us. My overall....I think they should have stayed as a 8-2pm establishment, for now. The place aesthetically is beautiful, lunch is okay, but dinner is sloppy agape, subpar service, for me that night. The owner, manager, or whoever runs this show, should review the tanking reviews and address immediately before they become a run-of-the-mill for business that could flourish nicely in a small little country town

I feel generous giving 2 stars to be honest. First off the interior is beautiful but the confusion starts the moment you walk into the door. I guess if you're a regular and already knew what to do it wouldn't be bad. They had a sign that says "order at register." Ok.. so we go to the register but we went to the wrong one because we went to the coffee one. When we finally were given attention he told us back register. Where?! So we order our coffee and go searching for the non existing back register. Finally the bar tender tells us to get a seat and she'll be with us. We waited nearly 5 minutes in a completely empty place while 2 old men at the bar kept handing her cash. Ok cool whatever ya gotta do. Order our food and the fried pickles were good but the portion size was very very small for costing over $10. I got the pimento bacon cheese burger with slaw on the side and my boyfriend got the brakehouse burger. The slaw was so bland even after adding salt and pepper it had no flavor and my pimento cheese burger was so dry with next to no pimento cheese. I couldn't hardly swallow due to how dry it was even my boyfriend took a bite and laughed. Typically pimento cheese burger have so much it's sloppy and messy but here not at all. My boyfriend's burger was better and not nearly as dry but the fries were soggy and needed to be cooked longer. We wanted to give this place a shot after seeing a few people recommend it on a community page on social media but unfortunately they didn't deliver at all. We likely won't be back due to the mass confusion right away, lack of service, and the food isn't worth the time or price. After looking at the reviews it seems the last few weeks or so they've been getting more and more low reviews. Clearly something isn't working and needs to change.
