Crema's Take

Tucked on Charles Street, this ice cream parlor is a reliable late-night destination with surprisingly generous seating for lingering on lazy afternoons or post-game celebrations. While the staff can be inconsistent and prices run high, regulars rave about distinctive flavors like rum raisin and coffee that go beyond typical ice cream shop offerings, making it worth the trek even in pouring rain.

Horrible experience. Came in to get ice cream for friends birthday, bought some ice cream and accidentally brought in our 7/11 sodas. Was rudely told that our sodas were not “kosher” and the worker touched our cups while saying that. All we needed was a simple “please do not bring your sodas into our store”. Was not stopped previously when buying ice cream. Do not reccomend this J.P. Licks.

Stopped in after the game craving ice cream — even though it was pouring rain — and it was so worth it. 😊 The brownie sundae was delicious! The staff member helping us wasn’t exactly friendly, but she was extremely careful with an allergy in our group, which I really appreciated. Great spot for a post-game treat.

Nice location, open fairly late, and solid ice cream, though not the best in boston. Really liked the cookie and coffee flavors. Its clean inside, and there is a bathroom for customers

On a scorching hot summer day in Boston, I stumbled upon JP Licks, and I'm so glad I did! Their rum raisin ice cream was the perfect antidote to the sweltering heat, and the variety of flavors they offered made it even more enjoyable. First off, the rum raisin ice cream was exquisite. The creamy, rich rum-infused ice cream had just the right balance of sweetness and that subtle hint of rum that made it a true adult indulgence. The plump raisins added a delightful chewy texture and bursts of natural sweetness that complemented the ice cream perfectly. What stood out the most was the quality of the ice cream itself. It was incredibly smooth, and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. It didn't melt too quickly, allowing me to savor every bite without making a mess. From classic vanilla and chocolate to more adventurous options like mint chocolate chip and black raspberry, there was something for everyone. I couldn't resist trying a few other flavors, and each one was as delightful as the last. The generous portion sizes ensured I got my money's worth, and the staff at JP Licks were friendly and offered excellent service, making the experience even more enjoyable. In the end, JP Licks' rum raisin ice cream was a delightful summer treat, and the wide range of flavors they offer makes it a must-visit for ice cream enthusiasts. If you're in Boston and looking for a cool, flavorful escape from the heat, give it a try, and don't forget to explore their other delicious

Plenty of seating inside even on a nice busy Sunday afternoon. There were quite a few people inside but didn’t seem crowded. They had public bathrooms. The store was a little dirty. The prices were high but to be expected. The sizes were not that big. We got two sundae’s and they were not big at all for the price I expected bigger and more ice cream. We also got a frappe and it was delicious, just one size for all frappe’s. There were also two benches outside to sit and enjoy your ice cream.
