Great place to eat before a show at The Newport Music Hall! I got the Ethyl burger and fries, which I could only half of cause it was GIGANTIC AND DELICIOUS!!! Im 6'1, 200lbs! My wife got nachos with shrimp on top thinking it was gona be a normal person size! It was not, it also was GIGANTIC AND DELICIOUS!!! Our server was also friendly and attentive! Both our meals with drinks was 35 bucks! Far surpassed our expectations! 1000% recommend! A+

I visited here on Wednesday and had a wonderful experience! Maddie was my server and she was so kind and helpful, I recommend her!! She answered all of my questions about the menu and gave good recommendations! I ended up splitting the truffle fries and getting a smash burger (I highly recommend). This is a good place to go if you’re on OSU campus

Ethyl and Tank on the surface is college bar in the heart of the university district. A little loud, a little dirty. As a result, the place can get pretty empty when classes are not in session That being said, the food punched way above my expectations. It’s a vaguely southwestern menu with lots of options and seasonal specials. The portions were sizable, everything was cooked and seasoned well, and the cocktails in particular were cheap, unpretentious, and excellent. Happy hour is from 4-7 and is an excellent deal on drinks. The vibe very much caters to the college crowd, but the head chef here is clearly passionate about their work, and the quality was evident.

The food was excellent and potions are large! Very reasonably priced. Metered parking available right in front which is perfect considering it is in the OSU campus area. Highly recommend.

Food was high quality and delicious! Atmosphere was definitely more college bar than restaurant. Service was very friendly and attentive, but could have been improved with some simple accommodations. E.g., my wife wasn't able to get a cup of coffee, because they didn't want to make a fresh pot in the afternoon, and I was denied the addition of a fried egg on my burger because "the breakfast stuff had already been put away." I found this odd, that a simple egg could not be found in the kitchen. In the end, I must say, I really didn't need the egg, as the burger was fabulous as provided! I would definitely go back for the food, and shoot for a bit earlier next time to try the brunch menu.
