Durango Joes Coffee

40 Town Plz, Durango, CO

★★★★4.4(474 Google reviews)

Crema's Take

Durango Joes has built a loyal local following for their hot espresso drinks, which arrive consistently delicious and backed by genuinely friendly service, though their cold brew program seems less reliable and prices have climbed over the years. The vibe is decidedly social—baristas aren't afraid to chat with each other and regulars, which creates that beloved small-town coffee shop feeling even if it occasionally means slower service. Their pastries and breakfast menu pair well with their traditional and creative drinks, making it an easy spot to linger with friends or settle in for the morning.

You can be the only person in the building and still have to wait 15+ minutes, because the baristas will be chatting with each other. Their coffee has definitely gotten more expensive over the years, on a specialty drink, you can easily get up to $12-$15 each. Overall, their drinks are still delicious! It just would be appreciated if the baristas were more professional.

Hot coffee is delicious and staff is fast! I'm leaving four star because I originally ordered a large cold brew (which was super expensive) and tasted awful. Literally undrinkable. It tasted like if someone who never had coffee before manifested a cold brew based on the description of a coffee-hater.

From someone that came from out of town. I am so sad we do not have a Durango Joes where we live! From the food to the customer service it was all a 5/5. Their prices were good for the food and drinks (compared to popular brands like Starbucks and Dutch Bros). Our go too’s was the Mudslide, Hot chocolate, their breakfast sandwich and burritos. We waited no more than 5 minutes for our food and our drinks, which is faster than expected for most coffee places. The inside of this location seemed cleanly. From their tables to their bathrooms, we had no issues! I would highly recommend any out of town guests to try Durango joes for your breakfast and coffee needs! If you live by a location, I am jealous!

Probably one of the worst coffee places I’ve ever been- very confused at to how anyone likes it ( but I guess people like Starbucks too……) Pouring out my $8 coffee and crying cuz it’s so terrible!!! Next time I need a coffee in Durango I’ll just heat up a cup of water from the river - similar quality I’d say.

Very disappointed. Staff was friendly but white mochas we ordered were very underwhelming. We had couple sips and ended up throwing it away. Such a waste for expensive coffees.
